someone bid 27,900,000 for a goalkeeper in the auction. And his release clause is 11m, what 's going on there? Edited by DaisyDoo 12-05-2011 21:43 |

I noticed the same thing. I think release clauses are invalidated when a player is at auction. This would make sense, since the release clause was put in to make sure players are paid what they are worth or taken over by another team. Putting a player up for auction invalidates the root concern. Or at least that's how I would have designed it. |

I saw it too! i think its weird... coz the player is only 49 in average . although he is a GK and is 19years old. but i dont think anyone would bid on him for 27M |

It is only possible when the player is in auction, but is not normal to pay this amount for a player like that. We have to check it! | 13/05/2011 09:55 |

Hey, Allow me to explain. I was just as surprised as all of you when I got that 27m offer!! The weird part was, the offer was listed in £, but I am living in the US so the game has *always* been in $ for me. I got a different offer for a different player I was auctioning at the same time, and that one came in as $, as usual. Then I looked at the buyer, and that team seemed quite fishy as well. It barely even had enough players to field a team in the first place. So I agreed with all of you - I thought it was all very fishy. I definitely didn't expect to actually get $27m when the auction ended, because his release clause was $11m- a $27m offer seemed ridiculous and impossible. But I did, even though I completely agree with all of you that I only deserved $6-10m or so AT MOST for that GK. So, I did the only thing I could do to "destroy" the extra money. I have bought a very expensive ($19.8m) player from an inactive manager through his hostile clause. Once he arrives at my team, I shall immediately fire him. Thus I end up selling the GK for about $7m and the extra money goes to a manager who will never sign in again. Hopefully this is satisfactory for everyone! And I, too, am interested for an @ to figure out where that extra money came from? Was it some sort of conversion error from the £ --> $? -mfind |
