Its much fairer to all managers actually - a new manager has the same chance as everyone else to get a 89% scout and GB him up to 99%.
There are currently 1023 junior players out there free (check stats) and that stays pretty much constant so plenty free juniors to go around.
At least then it gives managers with dial-up connections or managers further away from the servers a chance to get a free junior.
Weaker teams will now be guaranteed to get free juniors, so much better for them.

But a new manager cant afford a 500k salary of the scout.

I'm not saying juniors in general. Im saying good juniors, lets say 30+ average, because juniors less than that are worth almost nothing. And im pretty sure the huge portion of those free juniors are less than 30, so the number of juniors that are profitable to hire are not as big as the stats shows.

Well, those members can get free juniors now too. Like you said, 1023 free juniors. If anyone sets scout to no team, they'll find plenty of juniors but they'll be mostly <30.

So from my POV, changing the system to that way will just make the juniors go to the already rich teams and make them even richer while making this method unprofitable for teams that cant afford a 99% scout.

An 89% scout is 300k not 500, anyway you will still get 30+ juniors with a 80% scout, like you do now and as you get up to 95+ you will be given better players, whether you a newbie or not. Its fair for all managers. 16/08/2011 12:53

I was talking about 99%. If an 80% scout will get you 30+ players then i think some managers with 90+ scouts might not get any 30+ players. Anyways, not my decision. 16/08/2011 13:04

You will not find a 99% scout. Also if you do find a 89% scout for 300k you can GB him up to 99% and his salary remains at 300k anyway.

I knew the first part, but didn't know the second. I thought salary will increase when you train your staff. Thanks. 16/08/2011 13:33

Hi,

I kind of doubt they will change this. Remember, one of the things that attracts advertisers is the amount of time that users spend on the site. Those running a scout spend hours madly clicking again and again. This allows striker manager to justify charging more for ads and it also rewards users who spend the most time on the site. A big part of manager ranking is in fact how much time one spends on the site as well as how successful one is in playing the game. My ranking went up about 2000 when I had a particularly good week where I was signing about 90% of the youth as they appeared. It's since dropped about 150 as my luck shifted.

I like the ideas!

What if we just randomly assign the players, since the people who pay for a better scout already get faster scout time (so they could get more scouts per week)?

CelloG: I highly doubt that the advertisers know much about specific features like how the scout works.

Advertisers don't but they use google analytics, so the devs certainly do, and the advertisers care about aggregate numbers, that is a good way to set pricing. 17/08/2011 16:24
