Here we are guys, the top 6 nominated managers for Contribution of the Year  They have written (some at length so bear with them) why they think they should win. LUCIFERCAVE http://uk.strikermanager.com/inicio.php?accion=/usuario.php%3Fid%3D10320139 So as I stand here today, as one of the nominees for the 1st Striker Manager Awards, I would like to congratulate my fellow managers and feel honored to be nominated along the best known managers here on SM. As we all know this season has had its ups and downs; but to end this season with an Awards Night is something I never imagined and all the credit goes to the young manager ethena5 and all the others who worked hard for making these awards a reality though they faced some criticism initially. So the question raised tonight is “Why do I deserve to win this Award?” Vince Lombardi's famous saying "Winning isn't the most important thing. It's the only thing" is unfortunately the motto of too many individuals today. Although winning is important and sports and in various walks of life, and should be taken seriously, by far, winning isn't the only thing. Putting everything you have and giving one hundred percent to the effort is also very important to competition. A team that puts everything they have into a game and comes out the losers, has a lot more to be proud of than a team who comes in first but only gave some effort. I may not have the strongest team but I never have backed out from a challenge. Even at times when I have lost miserably I have always learnt something from it. So that’s something new managers must understand and always try to excel, because your opponents are never to far and neither do they wait for you to catch up. I I have been playing Striker Manager since the past 10 months and I never enjoyed playing SM as much as I did this season. I made some great friends out here. For me SM has been my virtual home and I have always tried to keep it clean from managers who resort to unlawful methods and cheat. I have helped @s catch a few dozen multi-accounts and other forms of cheat. I have always helped newbies and guided them from setting up line ups to buying players. As now as for the decision to whome these awards go to is left to you my fellow managers. May you choose the Best Manager. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Best of Luck for the coming season. If we are here it means people think we did something useful to them, as matter of fact I know nothing of football, I never played a game but did play with the football. This game helped a lot in knowing the game and managers here thought me so much. I do not know why I was nominated by people but one thing for sure, whatever I do is only to pass on the knowledge I have and to keep people entertained, I never think it’s ‘help’ or contribution. It’s just because I feel like doing it. I hope this ‘award’ thing will not disturb the atmosphere here on Striker and create an unhealthy competition in answering the forum msgs or doing some other thing. People need to be more mature. Each and every manger did a great job in keeping this game good for all. Bonus points for defusing a potential flame war. Double bonus points for messaging someone who has a player's release clause set too low who doesn't look like they can afford a hostile. So, I hear there has been campaigning for votes. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. In those whose names shall remain vijji for forgetting that the whole point is to recognize those who have been doing amazing work for this game. hewhoamareismyself said: The real winner is Striker Manager. I will not delete what I said because everyone seems to have seen it, but I was misinformed. I was only afraid that this'd come to a point where there was most campaigning than contributing. As chemicle has just said " the genuine should win" I was afraid this was not being upheld when I saw vijji with so many votes and heard he started campaigning. What he did wasn't wrong, It's just something one shouldn't be making a habit of. I'm sorry for making a lot out of nothing. Hopefully that nothing will stay nothing.
