MVP of the game

This occurred in my league game today. In the 76th minute a player on my team was fouled inside the penalty box, given what should have been a penalty kick. Unfortunately, it appears the kick did not occur. Instead, there were substitutions that took place and play suddenly resumed. This is unfortunate on another level as this was a game against the top team in the league and this penalty kick could have been a game tying goal - everyone always wants the best chance at victory. Wondering if this was a known bug or a common occurrence. Haven't spotted it before so I decided I would post it.
