I just received my first youth and he's a 15/15 LF with 52.125% prog... I assume he's pretty bad but wanted to make sure before I just discard him.

Whats the breaking point for %'s that are keepers out of schools?

Big money is around 80% prog which will give you 80+ Forecast. GK's will get higher FC than normal players though.

So this guy will start with about 52 FC, may go up to around 60 FC with good training.

Hey,

It really depends on what you want schools for. If your goal is to gradually refresh your first team squad with your own youth players then yes 55% is not great.

The reason is that if you run a training schedule covering all positions (GK, DF, MF, ST) then your players will progress slowly and just a few will be good enough to make it to a decent %.

However if you gradually fill your youth squad (either by your school or from buying/auction) with only e.g. Attackers and your training schedule is then focused on these positions (CF, LF/RF, LW/RW) respectively then even players with lower progression can still be trained at a decent average pretty fast.

So don't discard your young lad. Train him or sell him. Isn't this the reason you invested in the school in the first place?

At the moment I would suggest though, you first be investing your cash into your stadium and when you reach to a point that you are covering your weekly expenses by just one home game then maybe build another school (Netherlands).

Also don't fall into the trap of just expanding the stadium but try to evenly upgrade some of the general seats into PRO and VIP (ok I know this will take a bit).

Cheers
