I don't think anyone tried going without a financial manager....you could experiment it next season for us but I wouldn't advise it because you may get crappy (or no) sponsor/TV offers...probably no loans from bank...., no one to remind about upgrading accessories and maybe other things I forgot about Coach secretary and scout are really important when looking for players to hostile (helps a lot at start of season trust me ![]() Edited by patient 22-04-2012 09:03 |

All staff are important if you want a good team. Don't cut corners unless you are a casual player. Let's say someone hostiles your best CDF. If you want to find a replacement and haven't shortlisted a good one, with a 99% coaches secretary you can get a result within 45 minutes. You can even do both a search for high-average/low release clause and a golden ball search for high-progressing CDF within 2 hours. This gives you another 22 to decide what to buy. Financier will allow you to take out a loan if you find the perfect player and he's just a bit too expensive. I run my scout continuously to find free players, who I then sell for profit. Last season I topped $500 million in sales from my scout's finding free players. My 94% physiotherapist allowed me to get to 99% fitness at the start of the season before the first game, and allowed me to bring up an LDF I hostiled at 42% fitness and 35% stamina up to 99/99 within a week and a half even with being played every other day. My 95% doctor returns 3-4 weeks of injury recovery in 2 days, which means when they bring back massive injuries, none of my players will miss more than 2 games. My players all improve at maximum potential with my 99% coaches. And so on ![]() |

However my 70% psychologist, and my 67% physioligist did the same as @Cellog's. Injuries are at one week max at the moment and my 22% doctor is great. Coach and Youth coach should be high only if you have players who you can train up. Although a great coach sec is important for finding a replacement, in division 5 you've got to try to keep costs down. Please don't go mad and find the best possible in each position, you'll bankrupt yourself. |

Ooh now I know how to beat grantis, just have to push them to re-introduce major injuries! ![]() Seriously though, I disagree on a couple of points. 1) staff are relatively inexpensive, especially as you get into higher divisions. I began my career with staff salaries 3 times higher than player salaries. I was fine. 2) you absolutely need a good youth and senior coach. I acquired players when I was in division 5 that I sold in division 3 for huge profits that allowed me to get a better stadium than my competitors quite quickly. Even if you don't have great players, div 1/2/3 teams will loan their great players to you if your senior coach is 90% or better, and it could make the difference while you're building your squad. Another point: look at the squads of division 1 teams. Many, if not most of their players were bought with lower average and trained up. Some were trained from the beginning by their owners. Others (like the CDF I bought from culeatopee) were bought at average 28 and trained up to average 70 and sold for a profit, allowing them to upgrade stadium/Buy great players/buy schools. It's possible to skimp, but it's just not the best way to advance quickly. I had 90+ coaches first, then scout, then financier, then coaches secretary last. The physio/psych I upgraded after all of these. Be smart with long term budgeting and yor squad will improve very quickly. Couple that with careful study of tactics and positioning and you'll be ascending the ranks in no time. |

I've got 10m put away to play doctor roulette when it happens and you still won't beat me ![]() I agree with Cellog though staff is really important, I didn't think about the loan idea and if you can tell people you have a 99% coach or youth coach they are much more likely to lend to you. If you're willing to spend real money in the game then scout at 99 really helps I agree coaches first, then financial manager. Honestly I get everything I need from my 70ish psych and physio and we don't know how long it will be before 11 week injuries come back Edited by @grantis45 22-04-2012 19:25 |
