NO Way!!! He can only do counter attacks. At Liverpool lesser teams went to Anfield and dominated the midfield. He is only good for teams like WBA and Fulham. |

He takes time to sort out crap teams, but once he's turned them around, there's no looking back. He's got a good international record, good continental record, and he only flopped at Liverpool - Because he refused to use a band-aid to fix the team. Rather, he said it him self - that entire squad needed to be gutted from the inside out. You only need to look at Dalglish, and see how he's not faltering to see Hodgson wasen't that bad. |

I think Roy Hodgson might prove to be a good manager. He is good at managing teams which aren't extra-ordinary or rich with an extra special pool pf players. We have seen his record in such clubs with similar positions barring Liverpool. England too is a similar kind of team. Even after the glamorous EPL, they still face shortage of English talent, a team with players who are in no way extra-ordinary and who always under-perform (some might think they perform their best). So, Hodgson might be just the right choice for a team thats waiting to win anything since 1966. P.S : I would like to know others views as to why Hodgson failed at Liverpool. Pls post links of news articles on this issue if you find. P.P.S : I can't really get what Dee said about Hodgson's term at Anfield. Dee, mind explaining again? Edited by R11G 11-05-2012 05:56 |

Edited by R11G 11-05-2012 05:56 The Liverpool squad is nowhere NEAR the kind of squad required to compete for honours year in year out. (Barring a few of the players). And be honest here, you know I'm right. Hodgson aimed to completely re-build the team - But he wasen't given the time/chance to do so. Had he have been given the time, Liverpool would've been in a far better position now. |

Had he have been given the time, Liverpool would've been in a far better position now. After slumping to defeats by all teams sundry, he HAD to be removed. I remember his last game was the loss to Blackburn. Although, I can give him a benefit of doubt that the then-owners were too reluctant to part with their money, the club was in huge debt. So he didnt have the luxury of bringing in too many good quality players. But then, Dalglish with the same set of squad brought the team above from relegation zone and ended a respectable sixth. It shows Hodgson could have done more, in my opinion. |

look imo we all have seen his type before gr8 with average players a real tactition my whole negativity steems from the fact he has no respect from high profile players - he cant handle them the fa appointed a patsy to take the fall of another major championship failing sam alladice was probably the best of the english managers when excluding harry rednapp and also imo alladice would also have sucked the fa must have sounded out harry privatly but daniel levvey blocked them because not in best interest of spurs we are gonna have to go foreign again but how about northern irish or scottish - martin o'neil or fergy imo we will not beat win 1 game ;( and yes i am a pesimist but also i think a realist |
