Hi all, what is the importance of the leadership skill for players, specifically LF and RFs? The "Penalty Shots" training module gives immense gains to LFs and RFs but only in leadership. Is this a useful skill or am I better served to make my LFs train with other modules?

Thanks

we still don't know , corner kick increase leadership for lw rw , but they suck at corners

penalty kick increase it for lf rf , but they suck in penalty kick , the higher shooting will take the penalty not the higher leadership

I forget where I read this, but I think higher leadership means a player accrues experience quicker. This means faster access to skills. 04/05/2012 16:11

kurush,

take a look at michael beenders on my jr squad. he has had two + seasons of training with 97% coach with only 2-3 total penalty shots training. look at how good he is at everything else (finishing, dribbling, speed, strength) compared to the higher rated 61 jr RF who was clearly trained a ton in penalty shots before i purchased him.

i am not sure how important leadership is but wouldnt you take beenders over cabezas every day based on his SKILLS

edit; both have 87-90 forecasts.

Superstars, you're right... beenders is a better player for sure. For reference, what is the best way to train LFs and RFs? Unfortunately I have juniors of all types so I can only devote a couple of days a week to train each type. It is so difficult to specialize in one type of player!! 04/05/2012 23:44

Leadership and finishing determine how accurate a player's free kicks, penalties and corner kicks are.

For instance, for a while I had my RIM with 84 finishing taking free kicks and penalties. He NEVER hit the goal in 20 free kicks. My RF almost always hits the goal, and is gaining experience at twice the rate of the RIM. My CF missed penalties half the time until I trained up his leadership close to 50.

For training RF/LF, it is best to balance finishing, dribbling, speed, technique, and leadership. Passing should also be quite good, and should be equal to ball steal if possible. Thus, a balanced menu of shots on goal, beating markers, crossing the ball, penalty shots, sprint, and dribbling is best. Attacking headers is good if you are also training CF.

good tips @cello. however, as long as you are starting a combo of RF/LF i would not mind having one that is stronger, faster, and more accurate on the field of play and just assign the PK's to the other one who has higher leadership

kurush, i train only LF/RF for the past several seasons as striker was my teams weakest area. i run beating markers, shots on goal, crossing the ball, and sprinting each week. most 50+ rated RF/LF already have 70+ leadership when you acquire them due to most people wanting those .500-.700 or higher training gains twice per week. my 85+ forecast forwards increase leadership at 2-3.00% per one training session. i wish it would give more to shots on goal (finishing) in that training but only like .15-.25 goes to finishing so i have not run it much at all. also b/c my other forwards all have 70% plus in leadership already.

hope that helps.

We found that in the help files, how true it is i'm not sure.

I started an account on spanish server and have been searching through the forums to see if I can find anything more concrete there. There's only one post that even mentions leadership, which has a direct copy from the help files in there about experience. So I'm no nearer to knowing if this is correct.
