Would it be more beneficial for my team if i worked them very hard to get promoted to Div. 4, where we will most likely get killed, or to not work them hard in games and stay in 3-5 position in Div.5, where I will continue to receive sponsor benefits for winning games, and placing high in the standings, so I can build up my stadium, etc.?
(like, are there much better TV contracts in Div. 4 or something?)

Well , i really don't understand why people want to stay in a Division which take 3 months , if you're in a hard group and cannot get promote and forced to stay in that Div for another season then there won't be any problem , you can just work on tactic and improve your team to be stronger
But if you're doing good , why waste the chance to go to a higher Division !?

You definitely would get killed win Division 4, though you could get lucky and wind up in a division full of system bots and teams that aren't good too. There are better offers in div 4 (by about 25%) but they're not incredible. You will be able to charge higher ticket price and have a more consistently full stadium because there will be good teams coming into your stadium instead of system bots that have an average of 20. I went up last season only to drop into the relegation zone on the second to last game of the season, so now last season was basically a wash, and this season I'm rebuilding and will hopefully make the jump better prepared.

My recommendation to you would be to stay down and make a hard push next season. You need a much bigger stadium first and foremost, with more general seating, and maybe even some pro seats. That will bring in a good amount of money, which you'll want to spend on better players. You may want to search hard for lower average players with good forecasts that you can train up in your senior team instead of higher average guys that have hit their peak, they might suck now, but hopefully by next season they'll be formidable and by the time you hit Division 4 you'll have some good players.

I think you'd be ok in most div 4's however you need some depth to your team, try to work towards 22 players. Worst comes to worst and you can't quite hang on to div4 you can always take early promotion next season and try again. 10/05/2012 20:18
