@rebsiot said: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offside_(association_football) A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is touched or played by a team-mate is only committing an offside offence if, in the opinion of the referee, he becomes actively involved in play... " at the moment the ball is touched or played by a team-mate" -- when the pass is made. More impressive, is this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC535985/ To apply the offside rule correctly in a football game, the referee must be able to keep in his visual field at least five objects at the same time—two players of the attacking team, the last two players of the defending team, and the ball This is beyond the capacity of the human eye, which may explain why so many offside decisions are controversial. So there it goes. Attention cmccourt, Koppington, phaag and sicc89. I think you guys need to upgrade your version of offside. it maybe outdated... thanx @reb |

first 2 were onside. I can upload the pictures if you are dying to see it. I had to spend 3-5 minutes looking at each. 3rd was MARGINALLY (maybe 2 pixels) offside on the first pass at the half line, but you had to stop action to see it...if you spotted it without replay, you were guessing...see my other comment about the human eye's capability. Other one i didn't watch, but i'm guessing it was onside phaag's comment. |

My comment has never been made about offside. If you can read my past comments you will see my point is 1. Do not call the sim shit and 2. towards fin, do not post a thread complaining again about an issue that I guarantee has been brought up once a week to @'s, hell probably once every other night on GC. The original O.P clearly has stated this is another one of his rants. Thread Topic "another offside rant (getting tired of this)" Then go to bed. It seems he has brought the issue to light already once before. As a manger of the game, I see frustrations, but too many times people jump at the chance to complain. This game is free. It is provided as a form of entertainment to enjoy. People ask for suggestions on ways to improve but, if its something that is subjective like in the case of off sides and you have brought it to the attention of @'s and other managers then make sure you get on the ball to get the situation fixed instead of sitting back and complaining in a forum creating a bandwagon . Don’t call people out in a post if you’re not sure who is discussing what. It’s great an @ has come and settled it but, time could have been better served and issue resolved in a more discreet manner. Go ahead and reply if it makes you feel better but I’d layoff the calling out. Don't worry im done replying on this topic, time to go work. |

I think you guys need to upgrade your version of offside. it maybe outdated... thanx @reb actually, i think cmccourt, et.al. had it right. 3 were onside, 1 was offside. Regardless of offside understanding. Piling on like this served no purpose other than to say "I was right and you were wrong nah nah nah!" There were really better ways to go about this...mainly by leaving it alone or simply saying thanks without the negative attack. Turns out they were right with regard to the calls, but wrong on the theory, which was really a threadjack from the original question. (although you basically admitted to hijacking this thread....) And on that note...I hereby use the immortal words "I close" |
