Ayyachelsea said: @Lifeguard said: most likely you hostiled from mp190's old team, which was supposed to be a bot team, and therefore against the rules of hostiling. You get your money back, so there is no real loss on your part, just anger of your own. What do you mean by "no real loss"? What about my time? what about my time? i'm trying to answer your questions. "Naturally, I speak for all @, admin/dev/fiscal/moderator when I say we are sorry that none of us caught this bug before it was too late, and hope that you can understand why we had to take the actions that we did to correct it." (@CelloG) So, we need more @s to monitor the game. We spend for the game, we buy Golden Balls and Pack Managers to player this game. We spend a lot of our time and have been a part of this community. BUT you are saying there is no loss for us, just our own anger. What nonsense? I had a player's hostile revoked also - you are NOT the ONLY person affected by this, there are SEVERAL others in the same situation as you, yet no one else blows up and gets mad at the fiscals for fixing their blunder in the first place. We do not need more @s to monitor the game - ask anyone - they say their are too many more often than not, and we are not perfect, nor do we claim to be. We do the best we can with the volunteer hours we put into this game which we have no control over. |

*#### ... another 20 minutes of my life gone due to this problem, the game logged me out. Ok, bottom line is this. One person who skirted the rules, broke them, and used people both in and out of the game to achieve her goals, created a huge stir in the game. We devoted some 20 pages in the moderator forums and a week of debate trying to determine the fines for her original case, all the while fighting off attacks in the forums. Just as that was dying down, a group of people carved up a team and divided it amongst themselves. Heavy fines were imposed...too heavy. But before we could fix that, we were being murdered in the forums again. So again we had to try to quell things (this time self-inflicted) while making them right. This resulted in a few people leaving the game, because that type of thing can make you realize that you spend too much time here. Now, while we were unwinding THAT mess, this player undertook a series of transactions that resulted in her expulsion. Quite frankly, she pissed off so many people, and so many other things were happening at the same time, that we made a mistake, pure and simple. Her team should have been removed and she should have been turned into a system bot. Because of this mistake, several hostile clauses were executed that should have never taken place, period. We were told that they were reversed the next day, but a few @ realized that this was not the case at all, because they had some of these people were on @ rosters. We brought it up in the moderator forum and said that these were NOT reversed. The devs went in and removed all of the transactions. No tangible (real) damage was done to your club. And I would be angry, too. But it shouldn't have happened. At least 2 @ also had transactions reversed in this manner. Now, as for needing more @ to oversee the game. I can tell you this. More @ would not have prevented this. We had our hands full as I describe above, and double the number of @ would have made the situation worse, not better. Believe me on that. I really don't want to discuss this matter more, because it involves giving more attention to someone who doesn't deserve it and was rightfully expelled from the game. |

Reb, I appreciate the detailed answer, as it makes me feel slightly better about losing my player, however a few things I still have issues with: 1. Mistakes happen, they're going to happen weather you're an unpaid admin on an internet game or you're the world's leading rocket scientist. I get that. However, why punish existing customers of the game for that mistake? it wasn't as if mp's players were all put on auction and sold for $5, they were all at varying hostile clauses just like a ton of other managers teams who presumably either forgot to log in, or quit quietly. I don't see the harm to the game to just let the hostiles stand, nor have I seen the harm to them explained. Hostiles always take place well under any sort of market value, or at least under the perceived value, so it wasn't as if these hostiles went down under some sort of sketchy situations. 2. It's not necessarily the time lost, it's the opportunity lost. I spent plenty of time looking for players to hostile and had compiled a decent list, but that's whatever, I waste too much time on this game anyways, so without the hostile period I probably would have still spent time screwing around here. However, I totally lost the opportunity to get a good quality hostile. Had mp been a system bot at the time, I would have just passed over her players and moved on to the rest of my hostile list until I found a player that was available. I would have taken no issue with this if the players were on auction and the player was taken back and @'s were just like sorry, they weren't supposed to be out there. I'd surely be upset, but the auction market isn't a one time shot type of thing like hostiles are. I literally had no idea who mp was before yesterday when I lost my player, and it's very obvious she was a pain to many people in the game, but again I don't see the benefit of pissing off current, presumably happy customers because of one person's toxicity. |

We devoted some 20 pages in the moderator forums and a week of debate trying to determine the fines for her original case, all the while fighting off attacks in the forums. Maybe if the @ forums were public in a read only format you could just point people to the dialog happening there instead of having to waste your time re-explaining a thousand times? The lack of transparency is why you guys get torn to bits in the forums. The same reasons you (and the rest of us) terrorize the developers. Being opaque about what is happening helps no one. @rebsiot said: No tangible (real) damage was done to your club. And I would be angry, too. But it shouldn't have happened. At least 2 @ also had transactions reversed in this manner. If I spent GB's for an advance search I lost those. Also, if I bought a player during the hostile high point and spent all my cash on a player. Now that it's reversed, yes I got my money back, but all the opportunity is gone. Additionally, what if I sold other reasonable players to clear room in my roster or because I was replacing for an upgrade? @rebsiot said: I really don't want to discuss this matter more, because it involves giving more attention to someone who doesn't deserve it and was rightfully expelled from the game. I respect you as one of the best @'s in the game (seriously). However, the real mistake here is that players were reverted and money was replaced but managers were NOT notified. This is just icing on the cake to an already horrendously bad series of mistakes. I think the best course of action is a very terse. "Sorry. We messed up. Multiple times. We were trying to do the best for the game. Please forgive us we are doing our best." Which ultimately I think you said in this post, but couching it around all sorts of justification and frustration just adds the sting back to those that are having to deal with getting the short end of the stick. More @'s may not have helped the situation, but more transparency would have. |
