The simulator is so full of bugs, it's need an exterminator! In todays striker cup match I have noticed several old and new bugs: 1. 20-30 meters offsides were not being called, 2. Teleporting ball (small distances)-opponents player runs near by my player and after he misses him, the ball appears in his possesion, 3. The subs are not working (this is the 2nd time in last 3 games), 4. Players are taking the ball and run towards the opponents goal, instead of taking a free kick/penalty, 5. Goalies are shooting the ball backwards (again), 6. Substitute player is kicking the ball out of the field in their first contact with the ball, 7. The defenders are shooting the ball backwards to corner (from 40 m of their half of the court) when they are under presure, 8. Player can't pass if the opponents player is running behind him, and so on, so on... I have been considering to buy some GB's to speed up the remodeling of the stadium and to use for the FC of youth players, but after last 2-3 games I realised that I 'll be the biggest idiot if I do that. I love to play SM, but watching game simulation is a TORTURE. Edited by Dr Krkobabic 10-07-2012 17:34 |

The SIM is only going to get better with time. But it should never have launched when it initially did as there was just so much wrong with it. We can't go backwards now, it's here to stay. I just wonder how long the game will survive in it's current format. I can see a point in the near future when Div1 and the 4 x Div2 teams are all just as strong as just as wealthy (and many of the Div3 teams). At that stage it will come down to the smaller details and decisions based on the SIM. If the SIM is unreliable it'll turn people off (losing due to bugs which will frustrate). I also think the SIM doesn't attract new managers to stay with the game. Those who have been playing the game for a bit are ok with the current system as they have their Junoirs/Schools/Squad/Stadium in decent nick. But seeing the mountain to climb to even Div3 for a new manager, with a buggy SIM, may not be appealing. It'll be interesting to see how things develop in the next 12months (4 x SM seasons). |

I consider SM a very interesting game, considering all the mechanichs of play, but simulator... I disagree with Koppington that says the SIM doesn't attract players, i find very interesting to see the movements and tactics you set for the match, instead of a simply text. But it should be improved a lot, fixing bugs and making players smarter: it seem to me that players have predetermined behaviours determined by their roles: midfielders always prefer to pass the ball instead of shoot, external mid often crossing the ball horizzontally indipendently from where they are (cross the ball within MY box when my team is defending and they are back, conversely forwards don't pass the ball to his mate in better position and prefer to shoot, hitting the opponent defender staying in front of him). I remember Electronic Arts FIFA '96: when you deselected both teams and let computer play a match, there were no absurde behaviours of the players - as in SM - and i'm talking about a 16 years old game. So, it's not impossible a cpu manage well the match. And SM developers are professionist, don't forget it. What do you expect by professionist (professionist=people payed to do a certain work)? Something done in a workmanlike, for me. Some bugs can be understandable, nothing is perfect, but as it is seems too much. I agree with Dr Krkobabic, what a pity, in general SM is a very beautiful game. Something could be difficult to understand because of my english, i'm sorry..i'm not professionist in english language ![]() |
