Did you know...? Chapter 3 Advanced Formations and tactics

Did you know that a good formation combined with a suitable advanced tactic can give you a victory against higher level opponents?

Usually you face teams with an average higher than yours, being too hard to compete for victory. However, as you know in Striker not only counts the total average of the team so it is crucial to study your opponents. Selecting a good advanced tactic will round out your formation and give you many chances to win higher level opponents.

Choosing the arrangement of players on the field is very simple. You have different options available to choose. 4-4-2, 3-5-2, 4-3-3, 3-6-1 are examples of basic formation we all know. But we can go one step further and use advanced formations.

1-Formation

On the screen “formation” (main menu-coach-tactics-formation) we can see or set our current formations in the upper left side. On the pitch, on the right side you can see how the players are positioned. If you look just above, you will find two little buttons in red, "Basic" and "Advanced". If you click on “advanced” a ball will appear in the middle of the field that gives you access to hundreds of possibilities.

By clicking on the ball you can drag it with the mouse through each area of the pitch and see where your players will be situated in each moment depending on the position of the ball. Moreover, if you let the ball fixed anywhere; you can move the players and fix their positions according to where we want them to be when the ball is at that particular point. This works for all possible positions of the ball in both attack and defense play, except for the midfield, where players must keep their real position.

2-Tactic
On the screen tactic (main menu-coach-tactics-tactic), besides defining the effort (low or high), type of attack (In the middle or on the wings), defence (in zones or man-to-man) and play (short passes or counterattack), we can set how high we want our lines to be placed on the pitch. By moving red (forwards), yellow (midfielders) and green (defenders) bars, you will place generally your players on the field.

3-Advanced Tactics.

On the screen “formation” (main menu-coach-tactics-advanced tactics) you can schedule changes of formations, tactics and /or substitute players during matches. So, you can substitute a player in the final minutes, vary the effort, or switch to more offensive or defensive tactics according to a particular score.

By clicking on “add tactic”, you can create a new tactic and set conditions, actions and substitutions:

a) Game time: you select at what time of the game you will activate the tactic (at any time, at the beginning first half/second half; at 15th;30th, 60th, 75th minute)
b) Game situation: as if we are winning, losing or tying.
c) Switch to another formation.
d) Switch to another tactic.
e) Substitution of players.

And so, you can set up all the tactics you want as long as they do not overlap with one another.
If you combine two tactics with different game time as “at any time” and “at the second half”, you might not get the desired results. We recommend for this reason not to mix them. The same applies to the substitution of players, for best results we recommend you to make substitutions at minute 15.

Finally, we let you the following video tutorials explaining how to implement the theory previously explained:
