Has anyone else noticed their defenders playing worse this season? My defenders can't make a good pass to save their lives. When they have the ball, the pass they make almost always goes to no one. When they make free kicks from offside plays, they almost always kick it to the wrong team. I don't seem to remember this happening as much last season. | 06/10/2012 18:59 |

Gonna have to agree here. Defenders have always been lousy in their passing. I have however noticed the increased back passes from free kicks. Why? It causes havoc at the back and puts defenders under pressure. Just let the defender or midfielder boot the ball forward in a long ball attempt a la "andy carrol or peter crouch" style. Also I am starting to feel that making defenders slower near the halfway line is certainly a failure. It has not helped curb the offside trap and makes my choices in advanced formations rather limited. You are now punishing me, even though I don't play the offside trap. Change the whole model, let's just say the offside trap "fixes" are failures and move on. No need to weaken my players due to other managers lack of tactical nuance. In that I speak about the forwards missing more chances as well to compensate for the slower defenders, get rid of it all. Start the campaign again, NO to slow defenders and stupid strikers. If u knew the defs will slow at near halfline, then don't put them there. If u knew the strikers were stupid then put others (LIM/RIM/RM/LM/OM) as goal scorer. GOod luck |
