so what is the reason behind this unheard of morale drop? 20/10/2012 14:57

Its because you lost...it happens most times when you lose. Being in division six, you probably haven't lost much. As you said, you are running your psych so they'll come back quickly. 20/10/2012 15:04

Golden Ball
It always drops, i promise you. You may not notice because your staff have probably repaired it. Having said that it was a new feature about 3 or 4 seasons ago. 20/10/2012 20:25

Substitute
Resurrecting this, because it appears to be a bug or glitch. I had the same issue today, after losing 2-4 to a Div.4 team in my private league.

Now setting aside that I lost away to a far superior team by a pretty narrow margin, I still expected to lose morale. The issue is that unlike every other loss I've had, where the starters lose a few points, the subs lose a few more, and the reserves lose even more, this time the sub got hit the hardest.

Starters dropped from 99 to 94.

Reserves dropped from 99 to 92.

But the Subs dropped from 99 to 90. What the...?

This is completely inconsistent with how morale seems to work in regular league games. Is it because my team went winless in 3 games (loss, draw, loss)? That by itself is annoying because the other loss was a Striker Cup game in which my Div.6 team lost 4-5 to another Div.4 team that was far better than mine (Aside: Morale loss should be weighted for this sort thing... if anything, you'd think a lower tier team than nearly upset or drew with a statistically superior team would get a little bump in morale). Is it because it's private league & that somehow hurts morale more (which should absolutely not be the case - the exact opposite should be true, honestly)?

This is concerning not because I have to run my psych, which is fine - I run him all the time. It's concerning because my games all take place at 3:35am (local time) and so if I had not already run my psych the day before, I cannot now run him to have any effect for tomorrow's private league game & those subs who I planned to start are now at a morale of 90. Which means they will now player at a lower ability than they should & I am likely to lose the next game as well, simply compounding the problem.

But the real issue is that the subs went down more than the reserves, and that just screams "bug" to me. I have lost games before but never seen this particular result.

Substitute
Annnd... I just noticed that my Junior Squad starters & subs all dropped to 93 (from 99). The reserves are all at 99 still. This makes no sense whatsoever, especially as the juniors don't play in the private league (and their last league game was a 7-0 victory the day before).

Interesting that there is a "Youth Team" results & board page for the private league, but no games have been played... Again, this looks & smells like a bug to me.

Substitute
OK - Here's the short version: After a private league loss, my starters lost 6 morale points, my subs lost 9 morale, and my reserves lost 7. That appears to be incorrect. Also, my junior starters & subs all lost 6 morale (even though they did not play). My junior reserves lost no morale & are still at 99.

This looks like a bug to me. Not the morale loss, but the inconsistency of the morale loss.

Hope that's better.
