What you will have done is imported then saved without pressing advanced, anytime you import a formation make sure you select advanced before save | 22/10/2012 23:22 |

After a bit of a look at your formation, there's a couple of obvious things. In one of the boxes your RB goes flying up the field and in a couple of others people jump around. One of the keys to this is to keep your formation smooth in every box, so that when you pull the ball around the field, the players move in a sensible way. For example, there's no way that RB will ever have the time to make that run. Also try to keep your defenders out of your own box in anything apart from the bottom set of boxes, otherwise they back off too far from the attackers and invite the shot. When I'm building one of these, I always build the bottom set of boxes as if I was the team without the ball and the top set of boxes as if I was the team with the ball. Remember to keep pressure on the ball in your own half, putting someone on top of the ball helps with that. |

Thanks, I had a look and couldn't seem to find anywhere where the RB goes flying up the field. I've moved them back from the most advanced positions I had to dropping back more so hopefully that's fixed what you saw. I'll take a go at the defence staying forward more, that's a good tip thanks. |

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who helped out on this. I've kept my formation the same but I have tweaked the advanced formation. I'm now staying onside a lot more, I am catching more and more people offside and I have put together a 3 game run and slowly climbing out of the relegation zone. Beating people who have far superior squads than me is a real bonus and I am currently 4 point behind the safe zone. With plenty of games left for the season to go I think I have a real shot of staying in the league this season. I've opened up a school so I have some players coming through to sell for a little extra cash (and looking to open a second one up in Brazil in the near future) and all my debts are paid off. I'm now looking to expand my stadium and get some Pro seating to help with the income. So thank you all for your help in tweaking my team, I'm finally moving forward |
