Child's coach
So I have a player with one year left on his contract and he is 35. I want to retire him since he just sits on my bench, but there does not seem to be any action to allow me to do so. To note, the player has been on my squad since 11/10/2011. Can I actually retire him or not? Thanks for the help! 13/11/2012 16:50

I think he just retires or you have to fire him, I am not completely sure. That's all I know 13/11/2012 16:53

First-team player
I think that it has not been 4 seasons since the implementation of the retiring players to hall of fame update. A player has to be in the team for 4 years before being able to retire which means we won't be able to retire any player until 2 seasons after this. Not next season but the start of the season after next. 13/11/2012 17:54

Thanks! I appreciate the input. Basically it looks like that no one will be able to retire a player as the achievement says that they have to first come from your junior school. I don't know how many have gone that long with the game that they have a 31 or older ready for retirement. 14/11/2012 05:29

No worries happy to help

Achievement -
To get this achievement you must retire a player (min. 30 years-old) who started his career in your junior school. You can do that by resining him or putting him in the Hall of Fame.

Resign a player = fire him for the record
