Few days ago Grantis45 said this about offside bug: "This bug doesn't exist, I've investigated literally hundreds of these, not a single one was an incorrect call." Today I scored a goal from clear offside position: http://en3.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=8339014&accion=simul&turno=29391 Watch the position of my three attackers in the moment when my player takes the kick off. All three of them are in offside position! One in the middle activated from offside position and scored a goal. What do you say now mr. grantis45? Edited by Dr Krkobabic 16-11-2012 17:05 |

I say, "i havent watched it yet". However sounds like your saying that it didn't happen from open play, which is what i meant. There have always been problems with throwins, corners and all dead ball situations. Ill have a look later mr dr krkobabic ![]() |

I can give you two answers: 1: As grantis suggests, this was not actually open play. 2: (As was explained to me by a dev one time when I was complaining about offsides calls) The simulator doesn't always draw players in the exact positions that it is calculating them to be in. This is most obvious when you have a player called for offsides who touches the ball just barely on your own half of the field. | 16/11/2012 19:36 |

No, these calls are correct: check the positions of the players EXACTLY when the pass starts. Usually the receiving player is running back towards the midfield, and whilst the ball is in the air, he comes back into his half and there touches the ball; so the call seems uncorrect, but it isn't: the important positions for a offside call is when the pass starts, not when the pass arrives |

Dr Krkobabic said: It's offside, there is no doubt about that... Edited by Dr Krkobabic 16-11-2012 23:23 Yes, it's offside for sure but i wasn't talking about your situation, i was explain what happens when an offside is (apparently) called in your own half (you see the offside calling positon in your half, but you must see the position of your player when the pass starts, and the position is always in the opponent's half, behind his last man; you know Dr, there is a lot of people complaining about these "wrong" offsides). About your case, i think the problem is that the GK touches the ball, so the simulator considers the starting offside position of your forwards invalidated. In the real world it's clearly offside because FW took advantage by an offside starting positon, and the GK reject doesn't erase that. But try to explain this (or the concept of active offside but without ball touch by the player in offside, i.e. as happens when a FW is in offside position hindering GK's visual when a team mate shoots...) to the simulator. I think that for it the GK touch means the beginning of a new action and the previous offside position is no more considered. Well, offside (as it is now) is one of the most difficult rules of soccer, because it needs human interpretation, you know that even in real world it creates a lot of contorversy (here in Italy, at least). Honestly, i don't consider this as a bug, simply a situation that a computer can't evaluate correctly, because it can't realize that a touch of an opponent doesn't mean the previous action is ended. |

Dr Krkobabic said: A Bug or not a bug: that is a question... ![]() Edited by Dr Krkobabic 17-11-2012 03:19 The question that was asked on the thread you are referring to was about offside in your own half, which grantis correctly pointed out does not happen, so stop being so smug and trying to defame a good manager who unlike you helps people on the forums everyday with his own time and little or no thanks. Just stop whining |
