to players that use advanced formation do you have your players behind the ball or in line with it? |

It depends where the ball is and what position player you speak of, obviously if the ball is near the opponents goal the defence will be behind ball whereas if it was near your own goal the strikers will be in front of it, Explain your question a little more for a answer. |

Inline with ball for a offside trap which can be good until your against fast players they will rip your defence apart, or behind ball (closer to your own goal than ball) for normal defence, don't keep them too far behind the ball as it will invite a shot from the strikers. Basically what eamwilson said, but also remember to have your DF's converge on the ball in the center so the opposing FW's don't run straight through your defense. | 17/11/2012 03:54 |

You decide what you think is better, the strikers having to run into your defence or the strikers having to try and beat offside trap, I use different styles for different games ![]() |

Id say that around division 3(maybe even 4 these days),it stops becoming a tactic you can use every game, but is useful to surprise other teams now and again. | 18/11/2012 13:17 |
