dneighbors,
I get that, but it still doesn't explain why the formula presented in the FAQs doesn't work to calculate training. Maybe these aren't the right two players to use as an example, but I maintain that there has got to be another factor.

But it does explain it. They don't give you the formula they just list the factors. If progression or forecast is metered by age it absolutely could explain your variance. That said the formula is invisible so it could be using any number of things not listed in the FAQ.

I think we're in violent agreement. All I'm trying to say is that it shouldn't be represented as fact in the FAQs if it isn't the complete picture... 27/11/2012 03:13

It used to be that way, in the old training system players would train at full pelt until the stat that was changing hit 99. Since the new sim came in and training was changed, the formula was also. You can still use the formula to get an idea of 'relative progression' just understand that that value will always decrease. 27/11/2012 03:48

instead of age the current average or diff between FC nd current avg of plr may be playing a role as training keeps on decreasing as avg increases or as the difference between FC and avg decreases 27/11/2012 03:55

I found two of my players with the exact same prog (or at least close enough to exact that they're both listed at 72 prog) and close to the same average.
They both trained at almost the exact same level today as well (.152 vs .153) They also started the season at similar averages and have trained at the same motivation (50%) almost all season. You'll notice from the overlaid forecasts that one is going to train slightly better than the other for a bit, but eventually they'll come together and train at the exact same rate.

To me it would seem that perhaps there isn't much of a variable factored into training.

Jose Duda will train less on saves because his saves attribute is higher. As your other GK gets better results and catches up, his training will slow down until they both even out - assuming that motivation for each of them remains constant. 27/11/2012 04:54
