Hey guys, do any of you have tips on training juniors?

I understand that the best way to train your junior squad is to focus on a certain position, have the highest junior coach possible, and temp. promote them daily.

What's the best position (in your opinion) to train?
How do you set up your training schedules?
Where does the majority of your juniors come from? ie. schools, auctions, scout
How long does it take for the junior project to yield fruitful results?

Please add any other tips or descriptions worth mentioning. Thank you so much guys.

What's the best position (in your opinion) to train?

It depends on each and every manager ......if a manager like to train Mids and thinking of promoting him when they are well matured he goes for that ........if a manager like a specific position he trains that or if a manager is money minded he will train the positions which will fetch him the maximum money.Like i said it all depends on the thinking of the managers

How do you set up your training schedules?

It is better to schedule training keeping the player stats in mind . http://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah_mRsFIHgwgdG85bnQxZ2kzc1ZiZlhLZkE4ekllMFE#gid=0 Think this will help you schedule training

Where does the majority of your juniors come from? ie. schools, auctions, scout

It is from all of them . Very rare a manager gets all his players from a specific source

How long does it take for the junior project to yield fruitful results?

It usually takes 2-3 season and depends on the prog and starting avg/age of the players

Hope this will help you

There isn't really a "best position" CF's and LDF/RDF/CDF are the ones that make people the most money, but they also cost the most. GK's are the easiest to train (there are only 3 trainings that train them, so it's hard to get sidetracked). There are others like RB/LB or RM/LM that aren't utilized that much in the game, but if trained well they can still be very good, and you can get ones with good progression for fairly cheap. In my opinion central defense is the best to train because it yields a lot of players for your senior team and they sell for good money.

The best way to set up a training schedule is probably going to be experimenting a little. You want to start finding players in the position you want to train and then start doing trainings and see what stats they impact (you could probably find a helpful person from the forums who would be willing to give some insights into a specific training). Once you understand what each training does then set up your training schedule to get maximum results for each player.

For you the best route for finding juniors is going to be checking the market forum for people saying they're selling players from their schools for cheap. This happens because most players with lots of schools have no use for the players under 70 prog, so they'll sell them off for next to nothing. While these players aren't the greatest prospects, someone like you could pick up a whole squad of 70 prog players for a few million and train them up until you could afford some of the better players.

As far as yielding fruitful results it all depends on what you consider "fruitful" for some they're not happy till a player reaches 90 average, which can take a year, but getting a player from 30 average to 50 average can take just a season or so. .

That's just scratching the surface, there is much more to training, but I hope it helps.

Wow, thank you all for the tips. They were very helpful and informative.

I'll certainly be bookmarking that training table and I'll probably revamp my junior squad to accommodate GKs (since they're the easiest to train) and possibly LDF/CDF/RDF as well.

Super striker, may I be your feeder club? I'll buy your juniors. ^_^

I'd advise against training two different things (like you mentioned for GK's and defenders) I sort of did it my first season training players and it didn't really work that well. Players just didn't train all that quickly since I was dividing my time between two.

One thing that does work though is filling the rest of your squad with players that benefit from some of your trainings. So if you're training CDF/RDF/LDF's then getting a few DFM/RIM/LIM isn't a bad idea as the DFM trains on most defense training and RIM/LIM train on running and tackling, so you can get them some training in things they don't get a lot of training in and then sell them or loan them off to someone that does mid training. Don't invest huge into a bunch of mids, but if you find some cheap ones they're worth just having there.

Also keep in mind that any player played out of position on your junior squad only gets 22% motivation so they hardly train.
