Whenever you're trying to buy a player and you ask someone what the fc is, they can get kind of cagey. They don't really want to waste 10 GB's of their own and they say something like "oh I think he's like 85 FC, but I haven't checked in a while so it might be different" and then you forecast him and he's 75 FC it can be annoying. (I realize this falls into a grey area of the rules, but I'm not going to rat someone out unless it's a junior I'm promised has a high FC or a large gap in what they said and what it is. Buyer beware and all that.)

It'd be super helpful if there was some way that a manager could open their player up for forecasting and then you could use your GB's to make sure the guy is worth your investment. Obviously this would be something someone would manually have to open up, so not just any player could be forecasted. It could also be turned on during auctions so that if someone really wanted to know a players FC they could find out.

I think it should always be 'opened up,' so any manager can GB forecast any player.

It works that way with progression search, right? So why not for forecast too?

I voted yes. It would encourage people to buy more gbs which would spark the devs' interests.

It also lessens the chances of people faking a fc

What if I want to sell a high average low prog player. Its not gonna help me during the auctions. The seller is in a great loss if you allow others to open FCs irrespective if the Gbs used belong to you or the seller. If this idea goes through you might as well not put up players will less than 80 prog on auction since no one is gonna buy it,

Sorry but from my side its a big NO.

What am I missing here?

Can't anyone find out your players' progressions anyway with a progression search?

EDIT: I should also add: progression is fairly easy to figure out, whether a seller tries to conceal it or not. Forecast is a bit more dicey.

Thing is anonymous, if you do a GB search you're not going to get back just the players that you are interested in. It's random players from around SM. 20/12/2012 11:56

+1......But who will see Forecast must have the permission of the owner. For example a message like:

"the Team xxxxx want use 10gb to see the Forecast and Progr. of the player YYYY....option: accept --- don't accept"

Fair point Luci, that's why I said it'd have to be an option to turn it on during auctions. Even then though, your point is still true because people might be like "why isn't his forecasting available? not gonna bid now." However this would only really apply to 17-21 year olds who people are hoping to train but have pretty much reached their peak, because obviously if you're buying a 25 year old you're usually not expecting to train him a bunch.

I've bought a few players without knowing the prog/forecast and had varying results with what their forecast was, but I still would have bought the guy regardless of it.

I like Mister Cap's suggestion, having it be just like sending an offer on a player and the other manager has to approve it.
