But then the problem becomes that the instances of red cards increases for everyone (even if they're not running the offside trap) and then everyone complains that the amount of red cards is too high. Players get caught from behind even when there are defenders ahead of your player.

The offside trap is incredibly easy to beat, and yes you'll get guys chasing your players down from behind and tackling you, but you also get a lot of free chances.

People constantly complain about the offside trap, and people will forever complain about it, people need to remember that the sim is just that, a simulation of a bunch of 0's and 1's and it's very much imperfect. As far as I know there are no completely unbeatable tactics, you just need to find the one that does what you want.

Actually it would'nt b/c im suggesting tackles from behind on 1 on 1's (striker v. GK) to be booked. Yes, red cards might increase but it will make managers change those gimmicky tactics of midfield offsides.

Yo also seem to miss the point, i dont care if you use offside traps i care that there are no penalties for players being taken down from behind when in 1 on 1's. You dont get as many free chances as you seem to imply. I saw a 45 avg. DF take out a 66 avg. CF throughout the entire game. Yes you can beat offside traps but as you know the SIM has changed so that FWD arent as accurate, so what's the point of having "so many" free chances when your striker who is 65+ be taken from behind from enferior players or make 2 shots out of 15?

Again not complaining out of offside traps just the facts there are no reprimands.... Changing this WILL curb the way managers implement offside traps (ie. traps in front of midfield)

Don't cry, the sim is the same for everyone so no unfair advantages are possible. If you booked every 1 v 1 tackle from be hind there would be 20 cards per game, I don't play a trap but there are usually 2-3 occasions per game where one of my defs takes down an opposition forward when he is 1 v 1

This game is not an exact copy of real life so it cannot be treated as such. Sim players do not have AI. They can't think "oh wait he is 1 v 1 I can't foul him" they just think "KILL!!!!".

So in conclusion -1

An @ or a dev needs to retweak the sim

Only dev can do this (@rand runs the game for U-Play).

If @ could do it, I would have won div 1 a long time ago

You didnt read my post, if you did you would understand that i dont mean book a player every time a player is tackled from behind on 1 on 1. You're obviously exaggerating but i am merely suggesting that adding something to recognize 1 on 1 situations , not just challenges from behind, would not result in automatic red cards. Only a percentage is called (ie.10%) of the time the player would get booked. Updating the SIM to book a small percentage of challenges from behind on 1 on 1's would def curb stupid gimmicky mid field offsides.

There already is a small percentage chance. I guess you just want a higher percent chance.

But there would be a balance issue. Too many red cards would happen.

I agree with the idea of increasing red cards for the 'last man tackle' that prevents a 1v1 with the GK.
But the problem is the SIM itself. The SIM presents a lot of 1v1 opportunities . Once a defender is chasing an attacker, it's either gonna be a few missed sliding tackles or a foul.
A 'fix' was introduced that defenders would lose speed the closer they would get to the halfway line. But then users played two DFM's that were not effected and they would catch up and tackle/foul.
Not sure what the best resolution is, as we don't want to see 3-4 red cards per game. Maybe if the SIM punished a sliding tackle from behind (i.e. you stop for a sec or two) that would allow the attacker to increase the distance from the tackler, then maybe the number of teams looking to play off side from the halfway line may reduce?

I'd say simply take away offsides all together. Striker miss 75% of the time when faced with a 1 on 1 chance with goalie anyways.

But I applaud your effort Dirk, the reality however is that in division 1 , 2 and 3 mangers rarely use O.T because they get there A** kicked up and down the field.

Now that I'm in division 4 again, ill be using O.T. Lol.

Someone suggested this before, id park 10 players in your goal mouth and put high counter attack on.
