Lots of suggestions have been made as concerning the "demotion" of seniors.

Now that they are taking effect around us, I hope the devs would open its closed case.

For instance;
Balotelli recently played with City's under-21s and scored a brace for 'em, and so did John Terry play for Chelsea's youth team

http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/11/yankees-demote-nunez-so-he-can-focus-on-improving-at-shortstop/

I am not in favour of it, lest I be attacked by y'all. ^_^

Wont his motivation be shred to pieces if he is demoted? If a senior player is not up to the mark for that division, i am sure he will be sold to a lower division user who might make some use of him or just play him in a back up team.

Let me give you another analogy. Lot of people finish post graduate degrees like MBA, MA, CPA, etc... some of them are still dumb idiots and and dont know how to use their education. Would the universities take back their degrees from them because of their ineptitude.. Naah, they just get fired and work with a low profile company till they can get their skills up or just accept that they are minnows.

Forbes describe a demoted player as one who would have an increased responsibility to impress.

Balotelli must have been feeling so, so good when he scored those 2 goals. He probably scooped the MVP award. His "motivation" must have been unimaginably exciting, dude.

Your demoted player, who wants to impress you, having done that, would have the best motivation you can ever think of.

A CPA is not a degree; its a certification earned through passage of a 4-part test. However, I will agree that there are a lot of dumb idiot CPAs.

Sorry, off topic, but as a CPA, felt like I needed to clear it up.

On topic, I don't like the idea. Everyone knows (or should know) that early promotion hurts players. If you see a young player in the senior market, don't buy him. Its that easy.

So, what are you implying? We're talking about "demoting" senior players for improved play and also, for better fitness/form, which would be due to high sense of responsibility among youth players looking up to them. This should lead to higher motivation.

I didn't talk about early promotion of juniors.

I support it.

Sometimes you make mistakes. I wouldn't be against a penalty though. A player loses x forecast for early promotion, and x forecast more for demotion.

Anonymous, read this. Morale may be low at first, but motivation would be higher. It's gonna be like temporary promotion, say:

Temporary Demotion

I don't know why you're addressing that to me.

I don't support temporary demotion. I support permanent demotion accompanied by a forecast penalty.

Of what use then would that be? It would be an absolutely crazy, 'cause no manager wise enough would want to waste their seniors.

Permanent demotion is valueless, whereas, temporary demotion is invaluable (when seen through the eyes of my explanation above about Balotelli.)

People make mistakes, as I said. People early promote players all the time. It'd be great to reverse that. Also, sometimes promoting a player at 19 is worse than leaving them a junior and letting them train at lower motivation.
