+1 lumi. even I thought OT was tactic used till div 4, but learned the hard way in div 3. The point u mention abt defs is spot on.. (though mine dont return the same favours to opp team), the current Sim makes the forwards look like 10yr old sissies (atleast mine), i hope the new sim makes them a lil tougher.

I am blowing enough steam, too bad cant really show it to you guys... it wont be pretty

If there were suddenly a much higher frequency of cards then we'd just see a bunch of people complaining about the fact that all of their players are out because of cards. Getting players pulled down from behind sucks, but that's what the sim does right now and as crappy as it is, that's part of the strategy. It's sort of pointless now with the new sim, but you've got to plan around that as well as the offside trap. It a depends on the players you have and using their strengths to beat the OT (or any other formation type). It sucks to see your opponent stopping you when you thought you had a way to beat them, but they also could have studied you and figured out a way to beat you.

Wait a week and we'll have the new sim and everything will be completely different and new problems will crop up. There are teams that are successful with every sim, it's just a matter of picking up the things the sim does and exploiting the benefits it gives to your players and minimizing the issues it causes your other players.

I've always heard the same response to the high OT trap and I followed the advice and tested, refined and implemented my strategy.

If I get 8 offside calls with my formation then it's a lot. Point is this, I have sacrificed my attack in order to beat the offside trap, so when one player breaks through and runs for goal that's all I've got. I seriously doubt that those who employ the tactic even bother to check my tactics. They use their formation for every scenario.

Anyway, I vented my frustrations along with Lumi and now I await the new SIM. I see myself climbing mountains impossible to imagine, reaching peaks covered in clouds and emerging victorious and vindicated for sticking to my beliefs that football should be played a certain way, with style and flair and a knack for great goals.

some seasons ago the defenders speed were reduced to this point, managers put them in the middle of the pitch, if the attacker took the ball in the offiside zone, great, they didnt have any risk; if the striker took the ball in the safe zone and run to the goal, the defender would tackle him, and there were no red card, so great, they didnt have any risk....
now is going to happen the same again, as defenders was gven their full speed back, and the main problem, players tacklin from behind, never was solved...

If it has to go by the latest update about the implementation of new simulator, i dont think the new sim wont be much helpful when it comes dealing with our issues like the tracking back of defenders at super speeds and lunging tackles from behind. And alas no mention is made about the improvement in bookings or anything related to that either.
So the problem will persist even after the new sim implementation. Quite unfortunate.
