This is not a bug, but the cumulation of a number of things. Our players want to pass to the most open player...this means someone who is not surrounded by defenders. Usually, this is someone who is across the pitch laterally or behind us, if the goal is too far out of range to shoot from. It may not be ideal, but it is all the 'programming' of the game allows for.

As a suggestion for corner kicks only, remember that the positioning of your players in your advance formation can be used to make set plays. The top two corner boxes will determine your players position from corner kicks in the offensive end and the bottom two corners can be used to better defend an opponent's.

This might be a bug then. It is difficult for me to make suggestions without an example of what you are talking about. If you can, copy a link from your game and find the time at which this happens. 03/04/2013 07:29

To fix it I use "counterattack" instead of "short passes". Counter attack = long passes.
Of course counterattack also has its disadvantage as sometimes players just don't want to pass to the player near them and rather kick it to the one miles away.
