I've found the toughest part in setting my tactics has been finding the right spot to line up my offsides trap. Put it too far forward and teams with fast enough strikers can beat you easily and score without any issues. Leave your trap too far back and the player dribbling is usually pressured too late or can pass to the open person as soon as they're pressured. Finding that sweet spot has been the toughest thing tactically. The other issue I have been dealing with has been inconsistent scoring from my strikers. Some games they'll beat unstoppable against the best defense and then other games they'll walk into the penalty box, shoot, and miss so badly the other team gets a throw in. I use a LF and RF combination but find them passing when they should be shooting and shooting when they should be passing. I am considering a CF and OM set. I wonder if having only one striker will increase the number of shots he takes and improve my shooting efficiency? Anyone use this tactic or have any ideas? |

Sounds a little like real life on that one. Rooney can dazzle and puzzle. Only Messi is money! Here is another thing to consider. When playing in div 3 (and I sure higher), a lot of team do advance scouting to figure out the "height" of your offside trap. Make sure to vary it, or else you can get beaten easier. I still have a problem with it but I am aware of it. One way "I think" the trap can be beaten is by getting players that have "RUNNING WITH THE BALL" skills. Less passing, less offsides! |

Make sure your players are positioned behind thw halfiway line when your in your own half.that's a good way to avoid it also. I've had a tough season.I've outplayed so many teams statsitics wise and in the games but just end up losing its ridiculous and vey frusturating.Usually for things like this you would say"its footbal",but I can't because this sim is so far away from that and is just a barbaric reprsentation of it. Yeah, I like attacking football too, and push my midfielder forward, past half line. And it's great that we can share our experience with teams in our private league that struggle! One thing I did notice is that most of the guys in the 3D are selfish, and will not help you even if they are on top & you are on the bottom of the table. I suggest that we email our tactics, and advanced formations to you only & then you post it as you see fit on general tactics/formations forum. This way, the team's tactics remain a secret but the manager's that struggle can use them, and don't have to be at the mercy of some selfish pricks that don't like helping others. My division is full of them. ))) | 04/06/2013 16:45 |
