Not an expert by any means but I would start by looking at your defenders and seeing how close to the goal they are?

It Sounds like the opponents offense is constantly forward and your defenders are standing outside the goalie box which is allowing for more and more shots on goal to happen.

On mobile so I can't see the game.

Are they passing backwards to a midfielder or to another defender?

Have you got your passing set to very short passing?

Are they passing to a midfielder? If a mid gets behind the defender, they will always pick out the closest mid even if it means the pass goes backwards. 24/07/2013 22:25

Is it possible he has his mids to far back and defenders to far forward creating more back passing?

This is one of those things where you need to watch your game with the information on to find out which player or players is passing back and coordinating their advanced position with the tactics to eliminate the back pass problem.

During freekicks my defender will just make back pass to on one instead of kicking it into the opponent half where my mid and attackers are. 24/07/2013 23:02

Playing less short passing can help this as can keeping your formation a bit tighter together. 25/07/2013 18:51

Do you mean short passes at 30-40% right will tighten the defence and avoid back passes? 25/07/2013 22:14
