Something has turned out to be a big problem. My strikers all have at least 90 in scoring and their skills are, compared to most
opponents defence, more than enough to create a bunch (normally 15-20 per match) of situations when they are completely alone
with the opponent´s goalkeeper, from inside the box. However, in 9 occasions of 10, if not more, they shoot either straight into
goalkeeper´s arms or well off the goal. This in combination with the fact that most opponent´s team (with much worse strikers) seems
to not have this problem or simply produce goal from pressed situations or from shots well outside the box makes the explanation why I cannot aspire for div 2 this season either.

How come my strikers shooting accuracy is so freaking low? They manage to create those one-to-one situations with the goalie, but
they just cant score!

Its frustrating and let me be the first to tell you that you are not alone. Strikers with good stats like yours or medium ones like mine face the same problem. I would like to point it as a bug, but i think the devs till some extent have tried to built a little realism into the game that all the strikes don't find the target. But again, I hope they do something about this as well, since in many games it just becomes quite comical.

Having said that, its not something that's just happening to you. Try changing the path of attack for the striker by a little or incorporate OM's in your attack as they seem to be more on the mark imo.

i find the angle of successful attacks differ between positions

xW tend to score more coming in from a 45degree angle from the corner of the box

LF/RF tend to score more coming in from a slightly less severe angle

and CF score more running straight on slightly to the left or right of GK

this is just my opinion and may all be total nonsense

Thanks for replies. Using an OM could be an option but in order to optimize my striker-training, I need to use at least four strikers. I am experimenting with defending forwards. Interesting theory about angles too Bowsey. Especially since your team is prominent in terms of scoring efficiency. 07/08/2013 07:01
