I purchased a player with "prog78 fc 80" in the name. When I checked his forecast with GB it is only 67 and the prog is 77.

Should this be reported?

Yes. Report it.

Any false labels or any other means used to cheat managers should be reported. Please bomb the deal and keep the forecast open for a fiscal to view it. After that one of the fiscals will pick up the case and approach you on it.

wait a moment: 77 or 78 progr is just how you see the decimals. it could be an old advertising surname, and fc dropped cause not trained. if I buy a advertised player and sell him 3 season later, I MUST change the surname? so that i HAVE to purchase GB to sell players? 15/09/2013 14:23

Progression of a player never changes over his SM career. It is the forecast that changes. If you dont train a player the forecast drops a few points every season.

And yes it is the seller's responsibility to check the label of the player is correct at the time of sale. If it is found to be wrong the seller is punished the entire amount he sold the player for + a certain % of it to deter him from repeating the mistake again.

There are two possibilities, simply because it seems silly to lie about 1 point of progression.

He may have been left with a red P in juniors for one day before being promoted or as he seems to be a school player maybe the prog in school was 77.75 and he labelled him 78 before he was sold on.

thinking that a 44avg with 20 years could reach a 80fc is quite a newbie error....
i sometimes advertise "84 fc when bought"; the ereal question is: are we really responsible of re-sell wrong advertised players? have i to spend 10GB to resell him?

He probably could reach that forecast if trained properly, the date when he starts going down wont have changed.

Simple answer is yes you are responsible. I and any @ are happy to reset your players name if you are worried.

I would not tend to fine if you Forecasted a player and say for example it was 80 prog, 80 FC and you labelled the player that way, didnt train him for a month and the buyer found he was 80 prog 77 FC. Also coach level makes a difference to FC after a little while

But if you'd labbeled him 80 prog 99 FC and the buyer had found him to be 40 prog 40 FC, you're in trouble. We know Prog doesn't change except in certain ways that we can detect.

Its difficult to explain as its more of a case by case basis, but we do try to take a sensible view on things.

Most cases we see are more of the 99 prog has inexplicably dropped 30 points rather than borderline ones.

It would be nice if we had a button where we could just delete player's nicknames without spending a GB.

I don't normally agree with "GB for free" suggestions, but I actually agree with this.
As @grantis already said, the nicknames can be reset free of charge anyway, so it's not like a service we can't already get for free.
Of course if a nickname was reset, you should still have to pay the 1GB to rename the player.
