I have one GK on my squad, and he's down below 50 stamina as a result of playing a match every day with the early season commitments to Striker Cup and everything else. Is stamina important for a GK as it is for other players, or does it make any difference? Just curious what others have observed. Considering picking up a burner GK to use for my Cup matches if it does make a difference as I need to concentrate on staying up anyway, but if it doesn't matter... Thanks! |

I played against a GK last season that was at about 45 stamina and he rated 99 for the match, so im not sure how much it matters. I still scored three goals that game so maybe it did matter. I really dont know. I only have one GK, but I will usually throw a bench player in goal for one or two of my early cup matches. |

My observation is that a GK may allow more goals with low stamina- he doesn't react as quickly to the ball when a striker takes a shot. I don't know how your GK managed to get that low- I only have one and he's been above 90 all season while playing every game. I suggest modifying your team's effort level during the beginning of the season. Playing with high effort is playing with fire. |

I'm sure that my team effort is a big part of it. I normally play high effort to compensate for my lack of talent compared to my peers and have a second team of reserves to plug in for cup and PL matches - but of course, in an effort to raise money to upgrade this season, I sold my backup GK. I have a junior GK who will be promoted next season, so that's taken care of. I'm planning on going lower effort for cup and PL, and that should help. |

I was in Division 3 last season. My suggestion to you is to lower your effort to 50 (tied) and 70 (losing). Any higher than that and it'll destroy your team. Instead of compensating lack of talent with effort, compensate with tactics. You can survive with a weak team but good tactics. If you did both and you still look like you're going to relegate, let it be. Relegate, build your team some more, and try again. But raising your team's effort always backfires one way or another. Oh, and FYI: most teams make a few attempts before they're good enough to stay in 3. No shame in relegation. Edited by Aruen 09-10-2013 20:34 |

I would suggest a better alternative to lowering effort to those levels, is to get a gk for pl/cup/friendlies. those matches don't matter, except for income. get a jr gk with 20 rating for 1k. rest your league starter. keep your effort high enough to be competetive in league play. You will rarely find a league match where 50% effort is enough to win...and effort becomes even more of a problem as you move on past div 3. i played many squads in div 2 who ran 90-100% every match. These teams have the squad depth to do it. Build your depth... I had a 38 rated gk for 1.5 seasons, until about 2 weeks ago...it doesn't matter his avg..hes not competing in league. |

His option is also good- just depends on your style of play I guess. I've managed to survive with a small team on lower effort (My team just wasn't good enough for Division 3 last season). I bump the effort up once the cup is over, of course, but I don't keep extra players on my squad. Good luck with your season! |

I think you'd be surprised what your season would have turned out like if you had played higher effort. I've seen teams like yours compete for promotion to division 2. The key is rotating players for cup and PL games, and making strategic use of advanced tactics and substitutions. |

Would do the substitutions if the simulator actually made them ![]() And I meant what I said. The team that came in 11th in season 10 crushed my team in a PL match before that season ended, when I was playing higher effort. I knew from the beginning that I didn't stand a chance. Plus my squad is way stronger now than it was 90 days ago ![]() |

If you play with 0% effort does your stamina go down at all? I play all private league games wit 0% effort but am now starting to be concerned about my GK... | 09/10/2013 22:23 |
