What are the main differences between the two? If you want to sell a player, is it better to put him up for auction, or to list him for sale? What are the advantages/disadvantages between the two? |

Do both. Put your player up for auction the regular way and then advertise in the forums if he is worth it. Generally speaking, I only advertise my better players (high avg, FC or prog) and not everyone I put up for auction. |

Ahh right. So the 'List for Sale' is basically somewhere to advertise someone you've put up for auction, rather than a different place to sell a player. I never realised that. I just wondered because when I went to put a player up for auction the other day, I got a warning message saying I wasn't allowed to do it because the player in question was already listed for sale, and that I wasn't allowed to do both, so I am still a bit puzzled by this. That's because you have the transfer market chrome extension. It isn't a SM warning, it is from the extension program. If you advertise for sale, you may not want to list on auction because if someone responds that they will buy your player and someone has bid the minimum bid on the auction you will not be able to sell directly. If you advertise either in the forum or the transfer market, you would sell directly to the buyer without using the auction. The buyer would use the hire button and you would get a message with the offer. Jon C said: Ahh right.
