For novice,man-to-man marking is better to minimize opponent's chances, zonal marking is for veteran. And so also counter attack is better for a starter, short passes for veteran because his players can do it,they have the skill. | 19/10/2013 17:21 |

Dont get him wrong, not every "veteran" uses zonal marking, this is often used when a team is better than it's opponents fowards, while man-to-man marking is used when the attack of the opponent is feared(vice-versa). I stand to be corrected . |

It all depends on your preference: Man to man will take your players out of position more, however they will be more aggressive when the opponent's striker is coming down the field, and attempt to take the ball away one-by-one. In-zone will keep your defenders in position specified by your advanced formation, but they will not attempt to take the ball from your opponent until the striker enters their "zone" of play. So it's up to you. I personally prefer man-to-man because my defenders play close to one another. With regards to attacking, it's the same thing. Try both (short passes and counterattack) and see what works better with your squad. That's how I figured out what to play with mine. Edited by Aruen 19-10-2013 21:50 |

Again, I think it comes down to personal preference. I set mine two years ago as a newbie and haven't looked at them since. | 19/10/2013 22:47 |
