General forum, sticky thread called "important info with links" or something like that. Then hit star players link there are three players (silver stars) just below the first group

Silver star players were created as a prize for managers who were Top Promoters each week or so. Then the developers stopped making them altogether and started gifting out Golden Balls. After it was found that a few managers cheated the system and got loads to Golden Balls, the developers finally stopped gifting Gbs. Silver star players either resembled real football players or could be named after one of the managers.

Gold Star players are created by top 5 managers based on achievement ranking. Every season @s and developers select the top 5 managers and give them a chance to create a player / position they would like with all details from height, weight, country etc. These star juniors are auctioned off every season and you need to pay 50 Gbs to bid on them. These players have 100 progression (hence called star players).

If I remember well silver star players had a decent prog (not 100 prog but around 80s) and were all 50-80 average players when they were created. You didnt have to take the effort to train them. There are only a handful of silver star players left in the game. Most of them are 31+ yrs old. Once they reach 35-36 yrs they automatically retire from the game and go to something we call as Striker Heaven

Star players are said to boost your earning per game. It depends on your overall ranking + a few other factors.

You need 50 Gbs per star player to bid on the player. Apart from that you need billions in cash to try and win the auctions.
