Well i have not notice that. Because the average of shots my team take has been alike not minding the opponent GK. But i score more of these shots when my opponent has a weak GK. 26/01/2014 23:00

Botaya isn't the only one who said that. Lots of managers of higher divisions and 4-5 years experience in SM think that.

The role of the goalkeeper in the sim it isn't the saves, the better the goalkeeper is, worsen is the shot of the opponents forward.

If your oponent has a CF, let's say of 79 average and 70 of shot, his shot will be less effective with a 89 GK than a 55 GK.

Is this not as @LG pointed out? Or just because the GK has high average, the Striker became scared of taking shot? Or the GK has to save a lot of the shots?

Exactly the higher the GK average is, decrease the average of shot of the scorer, is like this that the sim interprets the GK role in the game,

Bring on your Gk against my forwards... Let's see if their average shots will decrease... The thing is that a high avg Gk will save more, not decrease the avg shot. A weak defense will always give room for more shots, whether the manager has a 90avg GK.

What I'm trying to explain to you ( not very succesfully) it's how the sim calculates the importance of the GK, and the Goalkepeer doesn´t make better saves because his average is better, everyone has seen a 37 average GK flying to catch a ball, what the GK does is getting worse the "quality" of the scorer shot.

The better is your GK more shots will go out, or to the GK hands.

I also think Botaya is on to something.
The sim does its best to recreate a predetermined result based on whatever algorithms, scripts or whatever it is told to do.
There may very well be some unrealistic aspects that the game uses to recreate the result, one of which could be the bizarre phenomena that a better keeper means a striker misses the target more often than against a poorer keeper.
Very hard to prove, of course, and it is probably just a distraction from what I believe to be the two real answers to the question - 1) GK is not very important compared to other areas of the squad, and 2) the better the GK, the better your results!

The question here is a good goal keeper important? Or how effective he is? Or how worth he is?

Frankly I think gk pretty overpriced to what they do on pitch. But obviously the Better the gk, the better result just like any other position

I personally do not agree with GK can change the result.I do block the ball with defence guys more than GK saves. Some times he flies well.sometimes he just does not care while ball coming from outside of 18 yards although he could have saved the ball with one hand.
I dont think that SIM developers have given importance for GK.
i get win With my 55 avg GK against good average team although he has 80+ GK.Does it make sense???
