To postpone something is when you tell IN ADVANCE that thing will not be as is announced. But when you give some childish excuse almost when time went up and after whole world (whole world except you, obviously) is already aware that you are incapable to do it - that is not postponement, that is just lame. And why excuse is childish? Because anyone with a minimum decency would be ashamed to admit that he didn't even test can that thing start - not even a start! But hey, why should they test, when consumers are so inlove in incompetent behaviour as quoted genius, they really can swallow even lamest excuses without a blink. |

You're right, English is not my native. I hail from India where we do things like people from west. If this is enough for you. Secondly, there was no deadline set for the launch as you say "when time almost went up". If you did, your fault. We don't know what happened, whether they realized the bug at the time of launch or they knew beforehand and were working to fix it, but I think the whole world (whole world except you) was patient enough to wait for the message announcing the launch, and that is how things work here. And when they didn't get anything, they logged off and carried on with their daily real life activities. Be thankful because the devs did not give you the version with the bug and make life real hell for you. We've seen some great bugs in this game and also seen them getting fixed with great efforts from those responsible. If you're going to stay on SM for a long time(which is far less likely seen in div 6 players), learn to be patient with things. Enjoy and expect no more arguments. And remember the Rule of Developers - Never ask for ETAs. And oh yes, your definition of postponement is a little too far from accurate, the words in capitals don't really exist in the definition. This definition of yours as a whole doesn't make any sense. A football match can be postponed on the match-day itself due to various reasons which disappoints the audience - fits your case perfectly. (This thread should be moved to general forum, the guy/girl did not ask a question related to this game) Edited by yoyoyoyoyo 15-05-2014 16:27 |

To postpone something is when you tell IN ADVANCE that thing will not be as is announced. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/postpone says, "to decide that something which had been planned for a particular time will be done at a later time instead". Advanced warning doesn't come in to it. Not a big deal. If you had been around Striker Manager for a while you would know that the developers often give best case scenario guesses on timelines involved with updates/releases. Yes, crack of dawn on Wednesday would have been really nice but I'm not sure how many people were actually realistically expecting that. You still have the old version to play while you wait for the new version. Enjoy and be happy. ![]() |

OMG. I'm trying to put some sense in a guy who lives in country where is pretty normal to SUSPEND the trip if your elephant isn't in good mood. Silly me. Surelly you can't expect from elephant to POSTPONE anything, it's known that elephants hates schedules. Whatever. ![]() Shimmo, I really don't know why you all act so humbly to the fact that empty promises are just - empty promises. Programming is very exact work - if you are professional of course (which I am). It is NOT weather report where rain could fall, but not for sure, neither is some woodoo mumbo-jumbo dance to please the gods, so if they would be so kind to help... nah. If developer knows what he is doing, then he exactly knows how and when things will be done because professionals makes plans and they keep up to them. And not just that - administrator's only job is to be a bridge to community. I really don't give a crap for lame excuses like "we are just volunteers" - if you are unable to do your job, then leave it! And that job includes to be online at time of any event and to react immediately if anything goes wrong, not 10 or 20 hours later! That is how the professionals are doing. That is NOT the way here, obviously. And, considering the simple fact that WE are the customers who are paying their job, so we have every right to complain and at least to get apology for failure. What I got so far is only preaching of some immature kids with @ as nick prefix - someone should really tell them who should here bows to whom. Many pretty solid online projects went down the drain just because support was immature, irresponsible and irritating. Mods, hit this to trash. |
