I think Skills is what makes the player productive...I also think each players have special attributes like (Mental points, Physical points, Defensive points, Offensive points) I think those are important attributes. Just like a player from lower div in the real life to play in EPL, he needs time to adapt to how EPL games are played, but to me I think α very good player can perform without need to adapt in EPL.
