When attacking put all the attacking players a little behind the ball don't worry they'll follow it in simulation.. but only difference is they won't occupy that place that might be offside. Also when you have the ball in your defensive areas have all of your players before the half stadium line. Finally Fight Fire with Fire: USE OFFSIDE TACTICS YOURSELF ON THEM ![]() |

I have experimented with putting a winger, WAAAAYYY out wide, but ahead of the strikers in the formation. The theory is that the team playing the offside trap will align its defense to my winger (the most advanced player) leaving my strikers in an on-side position. This works okay. It means you play with -1 man in attack but that's fine it seems, and he does still come into play a little. As I said, I am just experimenting with it, so it could be tweaked better but it brings down the occurrence of off-side offenses noticeably. Maybe worth playing with? If you know a team will play the off-side trap against you, that makes their play predictable, which can give you an advantage with some out of the box thinking. Try something you wouldn't normally see on a footy pitch. The opposing players cannot react to unusual/unexpected tactics like human players would. I cant give this as advise as I'm big newb but this is the angle I'm approaching from and it is having some positive effect. | 23/09/2014 18:38 |
