Leadership increases experience points gain of a player. This is from the FAQs (http://en.strikermanager.com/foros/hilo.php?id=284955). It generally helps to return a higher general average to the player, but many says it is a waste of training days focusing on training that stat as it does not directly reflect on how well a player plays, like it would be with shooting, for example.
