It's a good question, and one I've previously wondered about too. I had a look at the school situation amongst the teams in League One. Three have three or fewer schools, three teams don't have any, and the rest tend to have anywhere from five to ten, with a small group having many more. The conclusion would appear to be that schools are not essential to do well or progress up the leagues. But in terms of finance I do wonder how much money can be made from schools by comparison to simply trading players. There's certainly not a shortage of decent Juniors as there are so many schools in existence now. I imagine that schools were more beneficial in the early days of this game's lifespan than they are now. It would be interesting, assuming anyone has made any rough calcuations, what the income is selling Juniors compared to a school's running costs and its purchase. Interestingly the Senior and Junior players amongst the League One teams are understandably a mixture of nations suggesting that their schools over the course of several seasons are probably no more a guarantee of filling a team with high potential players than simply buying them. I wonder if it's just a case of schools can guarantee an income with less gaming time required, where as trading is perhaps a more time consuming way of achieving similar goals. |

A big YES to that question. A school, preferably an excellent and 5 rating one, can produce very high progression junior more frequently. They sell for big at the start or after getting proper training. Sell and use the money to improve your team or train them and use them in your matches. | 06/03/2015 18:31 |
