I had a player that is sold that had precise pass as a 3rd skill (of course I will always give defensive skills first) which showed some improvement in passing after I gave him that skill. I will continue giving my defenders this skill, I assume I can expect better passing with it. |

Very important skill,i had 3 on precise pass on my defenders. I had near 100% pass on my LDF/RDF,i see a lot of LDF/RDFs with very low pass. Ex. if you have 20% pass on your player it means 20 from100 passes will be good and 80 will go to opponent forwards and you dont want that. Also high pass help them receive ball better. |

It's the first skill I give to xDF and DFM. If an xDF makes a mistake in passing, that error will lead directly to a shot on goal. However, it's basically impossible to achieve a good actual passing % below about division 2 for non-CDF. Intercepting passes gives low passing gains to non-CDF once a player is promoted, and a player that has a high enough prog to get passing to 70 if it's only trained in youth will have a very high price. Luckily, Clearances also improves passing, but it's slow if you haven't been increasing it for that player in youth.. eg, if passing is 20,25 in senior, it's going to take a while of increasing passing by 0.15 to get that passing rating up around 60,65! But the time required doesn't rule out the essential nature of the need to pass well for defenders, and to add the passing skill to all defenders to increase game performance.. if a teammate intercepts the ball but can't pass the ball to anyone, what use is that player? |

As Brezz said it is very important, so, if you have low passing defenders you could also modify the position of you midfielders to ease the pass of defs by putting the mids nearer to defenders when you are around your box so that they will have a close player to pass the ball. This is just a little adjustment that might help them to be more accurate, but high passing and precise pass skill will help them much more Edited by Durnorf 20-04-2015 00:09 |

I always wanted to play 2 CDFs instead of LDF+RDF and use DFM instead of CDF but i never had money to do that,CDFs were too expensive. CDFs have high pass and easy to train,you can play CDF --- DFM --- CDF in back line and have pass near 100% without too high avg players. |
