I think the dev intentionally made it that way so that managers will have to pay more salary to increase RC thereby intending to take off too much money in the game.

The whole of my senior squad needs re-signing and am scared to do it now. My weekly expenditure has already hit the roof (52mil) for a div3 manager like me.

Yes, but imagine this. You had to re-sign junior player at the begining of each season to protect him. That system had very big imact on players salaries later on. That is 1 of the biggest factors why some players ask for 700 000 + salary for 200 mil. release clause (just an example). Because that player was re-signed maybe even 4 times as a junior at the begining of each season.

Now, if you made a good contract right away at age 14 (or 15, whatever) you will not have to resign him at all till promotion which in the end leaves a player that can play until retirement for lot less money than previously.

That being said, I think this update actually lowers the expenditures in long term.

Your seniors ask for that money mostly because of those re-signigns as juniors.

I never knew the number of times that a player has been resigned throughout his carrier affects the release clause, by lowering it so much with high salary.

It does, real attack on players salaries was decrease of contract years to max. 4 years. Combined with previous re-sign system some players will hit sky rocket salaries in their late 20-ies.

Yeah, the hard way.

I guess information such as this will not be found in FAQs.
