Hi all,

I know many of you will have been affected by the recent issues of server downtime. @s are in the same boat as you all and are given no prior warning/subsequent explanation of the downtime.

We can, however, see some of the issues it can cause. There are some things we cannot stop but we can do some things to minimise the damage it causes.

I call on all experienced managers to help me add to the list.

I'll remove any complaints about the server downtime from this thread (or anything else unrelated) as this is supposed to provide mitigation and guidance to all users in these unusual days, rather than serve as another platform to air your concerns. There are plenty of those threads already.

1) Selling via auctions

If you need to sell your players, avoid putting them on auction starting at zero, as you don't know if the server is working when the auction ends but the player will be sold for the final price. @s will not intervene to help you get your player back or to get you more money. Instead, put the players at their normal market value. Not sure what this is? Check the post I made today - http://en3.strikermanager.com/foros/hilo.php?id=538868 Do not use this as an excuse to price gouge.

Set the auction duration to 72 hours, not 48.

If you are selling off your team, you must still start your auction from zero.

2) Buying via auctions

Check the auctions when you log in next, particularly after a server downtime period. Maybe you'll get a bargain. Either way, the more activity on the market, the more stable the auction prices will be.

3) Training

There have been issues with training increases not being applied. There is nothing we can do about this as @s, other than register this with the developers, which we of course have done.
However, you should make sure to add training a little way into the future to avoid lack of training as much as possible.

4) Match setup

Use your time wisely. Don't assume you can change your tactics/formation/setup for your next game at a later time. Do it when you get the chance.

Consider your match schedule. It is not nice to have to do this, but if you have an easy game or friendly next, and an important game afterwards, consider setting up for the important game already.

Similarly, consider making your match setup score line-based. For example, you reduce effort when several goals ahead.

5) Store or catering

Set up your store or catering queue now, if you have one.

As mentioned, I will remove comments unrelated to the topic of trying to assist users in preparing as much as possible for any sudden server downtime.

Thank you for your comments, Ahaios, but this is not the place.
