Ladies, gentlemen, everything in between, and Slipi, this is our official forum for hashing out the business side of running the greatest private league in Striker history. consider this our official boardroom/front office. So if you may, please take a seat and let's run through our inaugural list of issues: 1. Unification of the International brand -- there's an Int'l 45, and i believe a 50 too. and obviously we at International 55 won't be 55's next season. Also, Horath technically created every Int'l offbrand existing today by turning down the Timmy Messi's of the world (and keeping one Timmy Messi around just to make a statement of how badass the rest of us are), so it may go far in making us a household Striker name if we were to unify all the International's under one umbrella. This would mean "copyrighting" the "International" only and running our league, as well as moderating the creation of sub leagues under the International banner. Everybody in these leagues would be members of our scurvy crew, and we'd be free to traverse the multiple forums across our leagues. we'd dominate Striker News due to having multiple leagues. We'd be invincible. That said, we'd also have to be strict on who we let onto our ships, even in the lower tiers. we'd have to make sure every league has a dedicated writer, and all members charismatic and brutally civilized...or classy brutes, whatever we consider ourselves now. Orrrr, we leave it as is, us against the world, and boot off the bottom feeders and replace them every season. we'd brand the number instead of the word, and let there be as many International Knockoffs as they want. because fact is men, there's a lot of Internationals out there (thanks Horath), but there's only one 55. i think we'll leave it at this for now. when we've decided what to do with our brand, we can move on to the next topic. yeah, i got lazy. ha |

hehe.. Launch a full competitor the the "All Star League" I can't write for 2-3 leagues. AND... Could you only gain entry into top by winning lower ones? Because that would be a bummer to win lower one and not get into top division. |

that's why we'd make sure to hire some more writers. i took care of you reb. haha i think we can set that as a prize, automatic invite to the next highest league. that's something we'd have to throw around. |

Just throwing in my 2 cents, or in your guys' case, putting my 2 star GK's on auction: You guys have always been the best of the best, why stoop to accommodate any of the lesser beings? You ignite fear in all of SM, keep it that way. People fear International 55, and they always will, so keep the name as well. If you ever need an extra writer, I'd be happy to volunteer my stuff to reb so he could work the darke majycks he works on it, but leave the basics of it to me, so he has more time to kick Virus in the balls in Div 3. I was planning on keeping a recap of Div 3 on the forums anyway once Project X (my Lifeguard moment) is over. As for the guys you let in, the thing that makes your league such a power is that they are always hunting, make it so that your new guys are active as well as already strong. Also maybe invite Timmy Messi back in just to keep a chewtoy for the dogs. That's just how an out of the league guy sees it. The only question I see is who wants out or gets the boot, and who should be the replacement? |

I think we should have a criteria like out of 26 games, only those who have won, say 7 (25%) or more will be allowed.. that way, we wont be kicking out a gud or active manager, and we wont be retaining a team which is a walkover in most cases... | 30/07/2011 05:52 |

sanyam said: I think we should have a criteria like out of 26 games, only those who have won, say 7 (25%) or more will be allowed.. that way, we wont be kicking out a gud or active manager, and we wont be retaining a team which is a walkover in most cases... haha i think if you're going to be a member of THIS league, you'd better be winning more than 25% of your games. or did i misunderstand you? @hewiththelongname, that's a great point towards keeping things the way they are. this league has developed an astounding amount of mystique in only half a season, and the camaraderie amongst the managers in it is not something that we want to compromise by bringing in too much new blood. but like Reb said, we could compete with the All Star leagues, and it's not like anybody in International XX will be mistaken for one of the original Int'l 55'ers. but back to what you said, that's 14 times 3-5 leagues, so after the big 14 there'd be more than 50 "International" players...watering down, or expanding the sphere of influence? that's a question we need more than just you and me and reb to debate on. i'm fine with either option. |

I think it was... manager must win 25% of their games in Int'l 55, which seems reasonable-ish, that would include everyone down to and include St James Gate, with the bottom 3 out. |

I know that football is normally a human-only game, but halving my points from each game where I field more than 3 non-home grown HUMANs is just rude to all of my sticky-toed friends :s Just a quick note on expanding Int'l 55, I think that increasing the numbers of private leagues we're in charge of will dilute things. At the moment we're doing very well, all press is good press, but to then open it up and say yeah loads of you can join in would defeat the point. Surely people have to be thinking "we want to be one of those 14 teams", rather than, if I join the private league Int'l system, then I'm piratey already and just need to get promoted to 55. Also I think the strain on anyone designated to keep the additional private leagues running as they should be is too much, 13 other players is just enough to keep a track of pretty much everything they do, even doubling it would mean having to check out the underlings frequently to see how they're doing... |
