One has to be able to tackle to be called all-rounder in my dictionary. An all-rounder should be someone who is great in offense, great in midfield and also great when it comes to defensive play. Not just one who can dribble and shoot well. Like someone already pointed out in this thread, Franz Beckenbaur was all that back then, today's version of him could be Schweinsteiger, Xabi Alonso or some others. This doesn't mean they are the best players in the world right now, just means they are the most versatile and all-round players who are good or even great in all aspects of game, not limited to 1/3 of them. |
