so u expect ronaldo to play as a defender before he became an all rounder, you are so funny.

then your definition for "all-rounder" is weird. One has to be able to tackle to be called all-rounder in my dictionary.

An all-rounder should be someone who is great in offense, great in midfield and also great when it comes to defensive play. Not just one who can dribble and shoot well. Like someone already pointed out in this thread, Franz Beckenbaur was all that back then, today's version of him could be Schweinsteiger, Xabi Alonso or some others.

This doesn't mean they are the best players in the world right now, just means they are the most versatile and all-round players who are good or even great in all aspects of game, not limited to 1/3 of them.

an all rounder in terms of his position and ability. Infact in football there nothing like all rounder player but is limited to individual position. Imagine a player who can defend, attack and also perform in midfield, but lack goal scoring ability or doesnt good in assisting goals, can not score freekick, or not even good in noding. I dont think football has ever produce a player who can score many goal, creat assist, dribble, good in header, freekick specialist, fast, skilful.good in defence, midfield and attack

C. Ronaldo never heard of word "defense" - thus he's not anywhere near to be an all rounder.

If you include "diving" as part of being a rounded player, C.Ronaldo is definitely up there.

hav you saw c ronaldo diving this season, i know you people dont like ronaldo but presently is the most complete player.

no, there's no such play who is perfect in all those attributes, however this topic is not about the best player (where only attackers/offensive players come into play), it's about play who is the most versatile to be able to perform well in all those positions. As to me, that would be Xabi Alonso, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Nuri Sahin - in fact most of world class defensive midfielders (their free kicks, passes, dribblings, shots, defending, playmaking, goal scoring, tackling are all above average to excellent). That's what an all-round player should be, however if you want to discuss who's the best offensive player, that's a different story - there C. Ronaldo surely is one of the best if not the best. But he's far from all-round as he fails in any kind of defensive play.

You obviously haven't watched CR7 this year... he's been GREAT about not diving. And that's coming from a person who HATED him a few years back because he dove allllll the time.
