Can we start a community like the Ninjas,Pirates nd Mercenaries?

INTRODUCTION helloooo i'm a new "gladiator" so to speak and i would just like to introduce myself to this community. i'm new at this thing so i'm here to learn, make some friends while playing this addictive game and finally improve my team in the midst of your company. personally speaking i feel this it is a good initiative and i applaud the founder(s) of this new community which will allow us to manage our team in a more effective manner just like similar communities around us. however, in light of this, we should know that we are a community in its infancy and thus we need to realise our vulnerability at this stage. the reason i used the word vulnerability is because from the previous posts i read, there happens to be some disagreements between the gladiators. acknowledging the fact i am not privy to the conversations between the parties, i find such behaviour unacceptable. unacceptable for two reasons being we are in need of quality, active players who can bring something to the group and secondly "gladiators" are still in its incubation stage; which can only project unfavourably of our image in the eyes of unaligned players. my suggestion would be to remain humble at this point. just like the very beginning when we took up this game. we started from a lowly Div 6/7 where we had to scrap and save every SM dollar to buy that must-have-player or to improve the stadium. slowly but surely, with long term vision our team became cohesive, stable, self sustainable, resilient to external threats (i.e., hostiling). so just like when we took those first steps, we will have to repeat the same process but this time as a group. as a group, every member equally has its rights and obligations. i won't go into details what the rights entail (example, first option on players etc) but the main focus will be the obligations of each member at this precarious stage. these obligations just like in the real world - both morally and ethically - to treat each and every of your fellow community members with respect, and to cooperate and participate in community activities. so having said all that we should take a step back from how we perceive this fairly new community and relativise our position. let's think of this as a group project outside our tiny bubble of our individual teams. now this is going to sound like crazy talk but just like the little bubbles in the bath tub, we coming together will be groups of bubbles forming the "foam". this foam is where we are now as a group. let us break past the barriers that separate each bubble to the other (in this hypothetical foam) and what we will have in the long run will be a giant bubble, operating as one, formidable to external threats and highly self sufficient as a group. so there you go, the phrase "don't get angry get even" will not apply in this context. don't get angry, but reflect, forgive and forget and ultimately hope the other person will come round to his senses. |

Agreed that this will be a great thing. And the disagreement isnt coming from a member. Its coming from a manager that wasnt chosen but felt he should have been. I back our leader in not choosing him to be in this community. | 08/01/2012 16:49 |

i see so it was a communication problem and maybe in some part indecisiveness on your side. well... all i can say is that try again to (re)join the group. if you're sincere about it, i don't see why the higher-ups won't accept you. after all u did make the logo. |
