Some teams are using a loophole called offside in simulator so effectively that they are beating better opponents. Its so frustrating to watch these games since it keep on getting interrupted every other time. Referee's whistle for offside gives stiff competition to your morning Alarm Clock in matter of annoyance. Please give suggestion to build strategy when you know you are going to play against such team. There must be a formation that can help achieving better simulations (worth watching). |

When you're building your advanced formation make sure your players are behind the ball or even with the ball. This will cut down on the offside calls quite a bit. You also want to make sure that in tactics that your lines aren't too far forward or this can cause a lot of offsides as well. | 28/11/2012 16:01 |

1.try keeping ur close the ball 2.whenever ball is deep in ur half bring ur forwards to halfline or little more as most teams get offside in this situation. 3.drag the forward line back in tactics 4get fast forward 5.bring ur forward close to each other when ur counter attacking in opponents deep half 6.i hav seen that wings attack wid a slightly short passes(about 40-45) gives less offsides.not confirmed tho. |

It is not a loophole. Offside calls aren't 100% accurate yet though. Watch some good teams (don't take this post as any indication that I think I'm good). Many don't play high OT. Fast forwards or fast wings or fast mids destroy high OTs. All things being equal, I'll take my chances with my forwards vs an OT, and have and its worked out. Once again, its not a loophole. Follow the advice of the above posts. Read about other posts - your complaint is approximately the billionth one (give or take a few). |

Thank you illex and super striker, I will keep your suggestions in mind and make a new tactic accordingly for next offside dependent opponent. Thank you very much.. @ABC DEFG: I just called it a loophole because of following scenario - no player in right frame of mind will give pass to other player(in offside position) while he's one to one with goalkeeper (I am still in doubt if it is a valid offside call when there's no opponent player in b/w your side's 2 passing players ) - I have seen few teams whose player assemble in middle through out the game, this strategy cause many offsides (I have never seen a real team playing like this) - Player seen standing in large offside position at the time of free-kicks (not a common sense). I am not trying to say that they should have artificial intelligence here. There are many such small issues with offside which teams are utilizing deliberately. P.S. I love losing to a team with a good game quality, but it hurts losing in a game where every move ending to a offside call. It INTERRUPTS |

Once again, its not a loophole. Your issue is that you want the sim and players to function the same as players in "real life". This is a game and doesn't always function like "real life". OT is well known and part of this game. Setup your players like the others said. You won't have nearly as many offsides. Go read the other threads that gripe about OT. The sooner you adjust to the sim the better, else you'll continue being offsides. |

One thing you have to remember is your players are following your tactic/formation so if you have a high attack line then that is what they will play, and therefor be offside Many people ask why the players stand in a offside position when they could move to a onside position (AI), but if the players made there own decisions there would be no point in making tactics/formation because the players would do what they want. |

@eamwilson: Valid point. Taken, thank you @ABC DEFG: Thank you, I am trying to follow the instructions. Though I consider getting offside from a throw-in or 30 min game which having 50's offsides is a loophole. I don't know why so much emotions to the word 'loophole'. If something is not right then we should think of a remedy and not pointing out words. If everyone start making strategies like Juventus Cluj Napoca (because it is getting good results) then every game will have 20 players standing in the center line of pitch. |

ABC DEFG maybe it is not a "loophole" but it is completely stupid. Of course we want players to act like in "real life" that is what a simulation is, it tries to simulate real life. Now of course, no simulation or model can 100% accurately act like real life but it should aim to be as close as possible. I got 30 offside calls my last game (http://en3.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=9208590) when my opponent used this insanely cheap tactic. That shouldn't happen in any soccer simulation. It would be one thing if at least the offside calls were accurate but we all know they are not. An offside should be called when the player is in an offside position when the pass is first made NOT when he receives the pass. Also, if the player is behind the ball when the pass to him is made he can never be offside. In this game, I broke the OT with 3 players and one of my players passed to another one (who was behind the ball), and it was called an offside! It is clearly not! This must be clearly fixed. I see no point in playing this game if it acts like some other sport that is not soccer. I like soccer not a made-up game that looks like soccer. Whoever the mods are or the devs you must care about this. If you want more people to play this game and even pay for it, you have to fix this. A short term fix is to not allow formations that take advantage of this. Or, penalize players who do this very often. Maybe even remove the offside call after 20 offside calls or something. |

If everyone start making strategies like Juventus Cluj Napoca (because it is getting good results) then every game will have 20 players standing in the center line of pitch. This is exactly what happened here when the new sim came in. 1 season later most people had dropped OT simply because it will get you badly beaten if your opponent guesses correctly that you will use it. As ABC said, it's not a loophole, it's a valid tactic that's very easy to beat. |
