Whats the best way to defend against stronger wing attack team? - man2man marking? - add rb/lb? In my league there is one team superior to all; would love to snoop points from him. |

I'd like to hear the braintrust's opinion on junior promotion. I've been diligently training junior defenders the past few seasons and some of them have progressed especially fast. I've been wrestling with the decision of keeping them in juniors with my 99% coach, hopefully optimizing progression in average -- OR -- promoting and starting with the senior team in an effort to begin accumulating experience points. What do you think is more valuable in this scenario, gain in avg or gain in experience points? I'd also like to hear any other thoughts on the matter. Thanks in advance Cheers, Oldfirm |

Keep them in your juniors as long as possible. Obviously, if a certain player is the difference between promoting/not relegating you can assess this case on its merits. Otherwise, the sales price difference between a player at 65avg and 80avg is quite huge, and worth the extra season or 2. I would say this is preferable to a) risking loaning him to a complete idiot, or b) having him warm up your bench, or worse, for low motivation. Looking at your team I don't see much benefit to your squad avg, your better prospects have a season or two to improve, and fingers crossed you aren't in too much danger of relegating. I'd stick. |

For me, for some seasons now, I have been training midfielders in both my senior and junior teams. Anytime a junior is up for promotion, I take him up to the senior team and find a befitting position for him right there. And ... I get new sets of juniors to fill up the empty spaces. When I am about to promote this new set, I sell off the existing seniors. The only thing about this is that though this is a money-making venture, it only works for teams in division 5 and 4. |

When I temp promote a junior he is rarely a benefit to my team, so I need him off the pitch asap. Because of this there's an increasing tradeoff between doing right by my junior and trying to win the game. A 66avg cdf is gonna look shaky vs a div 3 lf at high effort. |
