Running x2 In-Depth Passing x2 Shots on Goal x2 Ball Control x2 How should I include tackling? Also.. How does this help DFM? I realize that DFM are best trained in youth by being 2 midfielders in the formation while xDF are trained.. so is the DFM just for selling purposes in this training? For xIM, I'm thinking crossing is a waste of time? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. |

For a while I did Running In-Depth Passing Shots on Goal Ball Control Tackling So a 5 day repeating schedule, and it worked really well, because 85+ prog xIM's will train about 1 point of tackling per tackling training (they don't pick up much in overall average from tackling though). I switched to this this season: Running In-Depth Passing Ball Control Tackling/Shots on Goal (alternating) and the one thing it did was got my players up high in average, but their shots and tackling were lacking I don't care about shots as much for my xIM's, but I want them to have good tackling, so I've switched to a modified version Running In-Depth Passing Ball Control Tackling Shots on Goal (every other cycle) The thing with shots is that passing also increases it, and it goes up a decent amount with passing, so adding it in intermittently should work out ok. If you're looking to build up mids that are versatile I would go with my first training schedule. It's 10 days, but it will get your guys pretty balanced. |

My mids don't shoot, outside of my OMs. If you want to see wacky juniors, see my mids. A constant diet of Ball Control x2, Passing x2, tackling, Running x2. Repeat for weeks. Shots on Goal is for temp promotions and when they become seniors. But again it depends on how you want your mids to look. Again mine don't shoot so id rather see my young mids be able to run dribble pass and tackle. |

Don't know if I should have started another thread, but continuing the topic of training, I'm training defenders, mainly using Tackling, Clearances, Intercepting Passes and Running. Is this a suitable training method or am I missing out on something that would be more suitable. I'm hoping the methods I am using will train my DFMs aswell. Any advice would be appreciated. |

If you're looking to make an attacking mid, you should really train xM's as they don't really train very high on tackle. |
